A trip to the Marsh Lake dump found Don Noble putting a rooster out of its misery recently.

While at the landfill, located off the Alaska Highway, Noble heard a clucking sound coming from a fire.

He could see a rooster, still alive but with its wings half-burned.

The fire was large enough that Noble didn't think he could get into it. He decided to travel home to get his shot gun and put the bird out of its misery.

In an interview this morning, Noble said he's never seen anything like it before.

Of whoever left the rooster there, Noble said, 'That's pretty ignorant.'

While the rooster was the only bird he could find, he said, there may have been more fowl dumped there.
