Death is now treated as a homicide

The RCMP are investigating the death of a 63-year-old man whose body was found at a residential fire last month as a homicide.

The RCMP are investigating the death of a 63-year-old man whose body was found at a residential fire last month as a homicide.

Human remains identified as those of Gordon Ross Seybold were found in a residence in the Ibex Valley area of Whitehorse on March 26 following a fire scene investigation.

The preliminary police investigation has determined that the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious, and police are continuing to invstigate the matter as a homicide, police said Saturday.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or know information about this incident to please contact the Whitehorse detachment at 667-5555 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
