A local woman accused of robbing a Whitehorse man of a frying pan and cordless phone while armed with a handgun is out on bail.
The Crown agreed Monday afternoon to release Sasha Tamara Sidney, 27, on a recognizance with a surety who's put up the $500 no-deposit bail.
She's charged with robbery armed with a firearm and breach of probation.
She's not allowed to drink nor use drugs, and isn't allowed to possess weapons.
Sidney is also banned from going to the Takhini Trailer Court or having contact with complainant Calvin Jon Dickson or her co-accused, Tyrell Sidney.
Whitehorse RCMP are not talking about the robbery, said to have occurred Feb. 2. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant Feb. 13 and caught up with Sasha Sidney three days later.
Her co-accused, a relative, has yet to be apprehended. Tyrell Sidney, as well as being wanted for the robbery, is charged with driving offences and fleeing police following three police vehicle pursuits since mid-September 2003.
Tyrell Sidney, 24, is thought to have several residences around the city. He is believed to have been spotted riding a snowmachine since the RCMP released a plea for public help to find the young man last Thursday.
Standing five feet, eight inches tall, Tyrell Sidney weighs 140 pounds, has brown hair and distinctive blue eyes.
If convicted, both Sidneys face at least four years in a federal penitentiary. Crimes committed while armed with a gun in Canada have mandatory minimum sentences.
