COVID numbers show increase in cases
The COVID-19 numbers reported by Yukon government officials are on the rise again.
The COVID-19 numbers reported by Yukon government officials are on the rise again.
The latest numbers, issued late Monday afternoon show 91 active cases and 26 new cases from the past weekend.
The numbers are from PCR testing alone, which has been heavily restricted since January.
As well, self-administered rapid test results are not included.
The testing positivity rate is 31.9 per cent, which represents a significant decline.

Are you saying that the protesters are there because they want MORE restrictions? That's how your original post reads.

In a Far-Off Land in a Free and Just Society where the Renaissance Flourished:
Italian Court Rules Mandatory Vaccination Unconstitutional, 'Fatal Side Effects' too Risky.
Sicily’s Court of Administrative Justice has ruled that Italy’s mandatory Covid vaccination obligation is unconstitutional. The court stated that the experimental mRNA treatments intended to protect the public from Covid have been shown to cause “serious or fatal adverse effects.” The court explains that even if such fatalities are rare, a single death is enough to render the mandate unconstitutional.
The Sicilian ruling passes the decision to the Constitutional Court, which will now have to rule on the issue.

Rolf you zipperhead, 25 deaths represent less than 5% of the total deaths in that time period. >95% are dying from causes that society isn't hyperventilating about. Over 50 people have died from drug overdose in the same period. What are we doing about that?
Greatest predictor of COVID-19 hospitalization/death and long covid? Obesity and metabolic disease. What are we doing about that?

COVID-19 cases and deaths drop as Saskatchewanians stop getting vaccinated or boosted. Few people want the booster doses (third or fourth shot)...

Are these zipper heads aware of long covid symptom suffers and the 25th death in the Yukon to be saying it's like getting a mild cold. Wakey wakey you've missed the boat.

Yukon is one of the last jurisdiction where masks are still mandated for school kids, although there's no covid hospitalization. Canada is one of the last, if not the last, country to require a covid vax pass, as most other countries figured out that omicron is just a mild virus and dropped all restrictions. The Yukon CMO won't release the relevant details of the so-called 'covid deaths', such as age range, pre-existing conditions, covax status. And the PCR tests have been churning out false positives. We're stuck in this twilight zone episode because of unscrupulous politicians bent on following an agenda. And this agenda isn't about health.

@BozoJoe: Now that we know you're a Fox News fanatic, we see you're pro-Rupert Murdoch, pro-Russian, pro-Trump, pro-insurrection, pro-white supremacy, pro-disinformation, pro-COVID conspiracies, etc.
Given the high support you receive from the frequent flyers here, this reveals what we have long suspected: many posters on this forum are misinformed and delusionary and while outspoken, fortunately are a only a minority in our Yukon.

Is it true that people are at shipyards protesting for more restrictions? I hope they're comfortable having their faces posted all over the internet, because that's what's going to happen when I find them and start filming them and then upload it for the whole world to see.

When will McPhee propose an awareness week?
Right after her and her deputy dog Phelps give their workshops on ethics in political office… LOL!

PJ's Ghost. Nice to hear you like listening to Tucker Carlson and Shawn Hannity who inform the public of the truth. But, too bad you don't believe in the truth. So, why waste your time listening to them?

Is that what those people are protesting about by Shipyards; that we need restrictions because of climbing cases? I saw one of their signs say "Come ask us why we are here". I thought, 'You couldn't pay me enough to stop there', out of fear of being infected with whatever stupidity they are all suffering from.

@Rod. While fewer people are hospitalized recently, statistics show the health consequences have not lightened since the first wave. But thanks for your opinion anyway. It ranks right up there with Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity LOL.

@Matthew, the Great Know It All: Those numbers reflect the good work and sacrifices of Yukoners. Without that, the numbers could have been exponentially worse. What if nothing was done and the first wave killed 5,000 people, resulted in overflowing hospitals and people dying in the streets? It's likely we wouldn't hear from you then.

Matthew, once again your math is wrong on Apr 27, 2022 at 11:18 am
The death rate is the number of people who died/the number of cases .. which = .6%. Still not a huge number (except for those who lost loved ones) but more accurate than your calculation

Mathew, have you ever considered that if all the restrictions had not been in place, way more than 4000 people would have had covid? And prior to most people getting vaccinated, way more than 24 people would have died from it? Do you know anyone who has asthma or a lung condition or is a senior or elder? I do, and was thankful that the restrictions were in place to help protect them.

So there's civic hostility between taxpaying voters and those they elected. So is the cost of eating everyday. I am more worried about the fallout from that than anything really, Trudeau might provoke a bloody summer in Canada.

So many recent 'covid outbreaks' in long-term care facilities and among hospital staff, all of whom received the covid jab, are proof that the covax doesn't stop transmission of the virus. And the covax may increase susceptibility to covid variants:

Government really doesn’t have a clue what’s going on, they just want to control. There are far more people out there who have had this, then any press release will ever tell us. Thing is, the sky hasn’t fallen in yet, and it won’t. Wake up people!!!

A lot of people have their own covid agenda. I have a semi friend. She is NOT afraid of covid, but she says she is because she really enjoys working from home in her PJs, not paying child care, or gas, it's so expensive, and she gets tax deductions for doing that. It does not serve her agenda to have covid turn out to be a cold. I think there are a few people genuinely afraid, but, no one i know. My thoughts have not changed. Everyone should live the life they want to live. Want to stay home? do it. Want to go out to socialize? do it. Want to wear a mask? do it. I have hated it.. that there were people who forced me to live their agenda.

Accurate statistics are one thing but these figures, based only on those tested, are worthless. It would need everyone to be tested or at least people chosen at random to be even close to reliable.

Stop trying to panic people and get on reporting something worth while!

LOL! Only 4000 out of 45,000 has had Covid, out of that 4000, only what 24 dead? 24 dead, out of 45,000 people, numbers so low they aren't scary to anyone.. want to see the math!? Sure.. 24÷45,000 × 100 = a whopping 0.05%! Not even 1 percent, not even 0.5%, but a mere, 0.05%! These numbers should NOT justify economic shutdown and a segregated society!
