COVID-19 is on the decline
Thursday’s Yukon government COVID-19 dashboard showed a continuing decline in official cases when it reported the lowest single day of official new and active cases in more than three months.
Thursday’s Yukon government COVID-19 dashboard showed a continuing decline in official cases when it reported the lowest single day of official new and active cases in more than three months.
There were four new cases and 12 active cases, and active cases in only three communities.
This compares with no new cases reported on Wednesday and 16 active cases among four communities.
The test positivity rate was identical for both days – 33.5 per cent.
The current wave saw cases rising across the territory after June 8 and declining after Aug. 3.
There were eight official cases in Whitehorse on Wednesday and six on Thursday.
Dawson City and Haines Junction each had one on Wednesday and Thursday, and Watson Lake went from one on Wednesday to zero on Thursday.
According to the government’s website, there have been no new COVID-related hospitalizations since Aug. 1 and no new deaths since Aug. 8.
Up until yesterday, the Yukon officially recorded that 4,789 residents had been infected with the virus and 30 had died.
It’s anticipated that the planet will record 600 million official COVID-19 cases by the end of today.
Meanwhile, the federal government dashboard, updated at 8:15 this morning, still lists two cases of monkeypox in the Yukon.

“chigger of the kool aid” eh?
Maybe go back to school and learn how to spell. Then come back here.
And try being brave enough to post under your real name .
And try not parroting the thoughts and beliefs of the fringe - the same fringe who believes the “queen of Canada” rides around in an RV handing out sardines.
The Freedom Fighters are just getting crazier and crazier. Today they were outside their HQ in Ottawa (where they have been served an eviction notice for not paying their rent LOL) while wearing paper crowns on their heads and rubber dishwashing gloves. Yeah….that’s not insane.
As covid settles down you are going to need a new hobby to give your life some sense of purpose. Maybe hold a weekend pickup truck horn honking rally demanding potholes get fixed quicker? I think Trudeau and Bill Gates make the potholes to ruin our jacked up trucks. It’s a conspiracy run by “big muffler”.

Roy, although I don't have Facebook I did do some research in the interim. I can't speak about two of the deaths in any detail, but I did learn from a friend that one of the people had a stroke, or series of strokes, which led to brain bleed, surgery, and ultimately death during operation. This person was very athletic with no prior health issues, similar to many of the sudden, unexpected deaths in young adults seen recently in Canada and around the world.
You're right about being concerned about opioid deaths. The last time I checked, with exception to Ontario and Quebec, there's been more opioid deaths than Covid deaths in every province and territory over the past two years. However, if the excess mortality figures seen around the world, in Canada, and right here in Yukon are being caused by Covid vaccines, then the vaccine crisis far eclipses Covid and opioids combined by orders of magnitude.

@Rick
You’re 100% right. It’s not due to covid. At all. You can look them up on Facebook if you really want to “do your own research”.
This goes hand in hand with the “why aren’t we as concerned about opiod deaths as we are about covid?!” People - who in the next breath say “Hmm why are more young people dying? Must be the vaccines!”
If there was any indication that covid vaccines were causing increased deaths then Rebel News and Fox/Breitbart and all the other dog-whistle right wing rags would be posting that as their top headline daily.
Jeff B can’t explain why they are not.
Unless you want to say “the same sources where I get my talking points from are also corrupted by the deep state main stream media influencers”.
How someone can carry those two competing narratives simultaneously is interesting. And laughable.

Three people under 40 at the top of the obituary page. All I know is it's not Covid and it's not normal.

How much paid time off do you get for testing positive for covid at home? Lucky for us our civil servants are extremely ethical.

@ Charlie's Aunt:
Yukon's record keeping of covid vax reactions is as haphazard as everything else in the government.
I had a reaction to the first shot, and when I went in for my forced 2nd dose (or, you know, I could "choose" to lose my job), I was told because of the reaction, "the team" would have to confer amongst themselves and get back to me whether a 2nd shot was a good idea. No exemption, no paperwork, no examination, nothing. That was in December, and I'm "still waiting" to hear from them.
YG doesn't care about negative reactions to the vaccine.

One of my colleagues had their latent multiple sclerosis re-emerge after being vaccinated. Another one has heart inflammation and can no longer do physical work. Nice vaccine you've got there.

@ DL, all reported local reactions are forwarded to national data collection and reports can be accessed: https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/vaccine-safety/#a3
Ontario also has detailed reports posted on-line.

The issue now that we are learning to live is, how most people can be programmed into treating friends family and others so inhumanely because the Government, mainstream media, and celebrities told them to.
It's only a matter of time before they roll out the next "emergency" and weaponize these same people.

These reports on 'covid cases' are pointless. The more credible and honest medical experts around the world have concluded by now that covid is endemic, similar to the flu, and many countries have stopped testing.
What we REALLY need to know is the impacts of the covid injections. This should be recorded in a database accessible to public viewing. The covid injections are still at the experimental stage, won't be fully approved until 2023. There MUST be a system in place at this time tracking the effects of this ongoing experimental jab, right? RIGHT??
Such as, the rates of "Sudden Adult Death Syndrome" and myocarditis after taking this covid injection.
Some countries are actually taking health care seriously. Like Denmark.

The virus was not created in a lab. It was discovered in 1963.

I think, like a cold, a flu.. covid is here to stay. Decisions by failed a substitute drama teacher, medical professionals with political aspirations, people holding stock in big pharmas, were damaging to everyone, and disastrous for the country.
I understand that covid is like the flu.. you can only get a flu one time. But, there are 60-100 strains of flu. People get another strain and call it the flu. The Trudeau gov was going to try to maintain its dictatorship control by giving names to the strains. But, they are still covid. I believe if your immune system is working properly, and it isn't for everyone. You can get covid 60 to 100 times. Because it is a flu virus. But, you won't get the same strain twice. Not that it makes a difference, you're still sick. But, for some reason, the government wants people to think that they can keep getting the same strain, and that they have no immune system. And, I'm thinking..what the hell is THAT about? These Liberals always have a hidden agenda, gotta' watch them like a hawk.

Aptly timed release from YG - when school starts and testing becomes the norm again, there will be another release stating cases are on the rise.

I know more people that have covid right now than anytime in the last two years. Some are on their third round of it. None of them have been "officially" tested though. Publishing "official" numbers when they are only testing "high risk" people is beyond pointless.
If they show cases declining they can use it an an excuse to drop policies and mandates instead of admitting the real reasons.

The official counts are completely unreliable and I'm not sure why it's even relevant to report on them anymore. Our entire household has it after it was spreading one of our job sites and none of us are counted because we didn't get official pcr tests, just rapid tests at home. Testing wastewater would be a far more accurate and relevant measurement.

Since the virus was created in a lab, it is not a true living bacteria. Which means, eventually, it will just disappear.

Anybody who has contacted the virus more than once should not be counted again. That would bring the count down to reality.

Nope. I know more folks that have it now than ever before. I just had it myself (second time too……so glad for those safe and effective vaccines we had to get to keep our jobs). People just aren’t reporting it anymore because it’s a virus we’re getting used to living with.
