Four more cases of COVID-19 were reported Friday afternoon by Dr. Catherine Elliott, the territory’s acting chief medical officer of health.
The number of active cases is currently at 52.
For the new cases since noon last Thursday, there are three new cases: two cases in Whitehorse, one case in rural Yukon and one out-of-territory case.
Since June 1, 619 people have recovered and six people have died, five of whom were unvaccinated and one was partially vaccinated.
A total of eight Yukoners have died from COVID-19 since November 2020.
The office of the chief medical officer of health continues to monitor daily activity.
As active cases decrease and daily case counts are stabilized, news releases will be issued on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the office has advised the public. Figures from the past weekend were unavailable before press time this afternoon.
The number of cases will continue to be updated Monday through Friday online.
Elliott has also issued two more public exposure notices.
People may have been exposed to the COVID-19 infection if they were at the following location, and should self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.
• Tags Food and Gas, Watson Lake, Wednesday, Aug. 11, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.;
• Home Hardware Building Centre, Whitehorse, Thursday, Aug. 12, 8:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13, 8:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 14, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
As the Star reported Friday, the Yukon government has also set out its framework for moving from the pandemic to an endemic approach, treating COVID-19 much like the flu.
Premier Sandy Silver said Friday the territory is scheduled to lift its state of emergency this Wednesday, after which a six-pillar plan, titled Forging Ahead, will help guide the Yukon to safely adapt to the disease.
The pillars include increasing vaccination, continued testing and tracing to curb outbreaks, along with supports for vulnerable people.
The officials emphasized the importance of vaccines and urged people to get their shots.
More than 80 per cent of the territory’s residents are fully vaccinated, but most of its 671 infections came in an outbreak that started in June.
The territory reported two cases of the Delta variant last Wednesday.

Who is Dr Trozzi, @enough? on Aug 26, 2021 at 11:15 am
When a doctor refers to Covid as 'Wuhan Virus', that's a clue (this site is full of misinformation). I did look at what he wrote ... but if you want to see excess deaths by year/by country, The Economist does a good job of tracking (with real data) https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/coronavirus-excess-deaths-tracker

Let’s look at the actual numbers:
Canadian Death Statistics: How Is this a Pandemic?
Dr. Trozzi explores Canadian death certificates, and discusses how Covid-19 is a pandemic
Excerpt:
“If you have been researching the Wuhan Virus and the global geopolitical situation, you have likely come across independent journalists from around the world, who have looked at many countries’ annual death statitstics, and noticed something unusual. What they have found is that while countries have reported many people dying from Covid-19 in 2020, the annual death totals for the countries have not generally increased. This is surprising. We have not found new profound cures for all the other things people die of like old age, heart disease, cancer, and lung disease; so if these things continue as usual, and there is a new thing (Covid) that is killing lots of people, then there should be more people dying in total. If not, this supports the observation that there has been a big push through much of the world to claim Covid-19 as the cause of death, when arguably, it was something else that caused death.”

The vaccine 80 percent of Yukon residents are fully vaccinated with is last year's vaccine. The vaccine was developed when there was no delta variant. There has never been a respiratory virus that has been eradicated from human existence by a vaccine ie. common cold or flu. Dr. Catherine Elliot, Sandy Silver et all, please name a respiratory virus that has been banished from human existence by a vaccine. Give us hope. Thank you.

Make you a deal...I'm ok with you getting cancer treatment after you've smoked for 20 years or drank booze regularly or ate too much fat food, that's your choice and you have the freedom to do it. There are ten times more people that die from preventable habits than covid. I'm ok with abortion and covering those costs, even though baby doesn't have a say. There were 85,000 abortions in Canada in 2019 and
there has been 26,000 covid deaths. I'm ok with medical help for someone who chose to drive too fast or even got hurt in an avoidable high risk injury like skydiving. I respect your freedom. That's Canada, check the statistics. I choose not to get vaccinated. You're more dangerous to me than I am to you. So unless you want to restrict the other major contributors to our taxed health care, you should respect my choice...

We already knew months ago Delta was coming. They already told us.. almost as if there is a narrative at play. Also, can you show us dumb minions what the tests look like and the differences between all the known varients?

OK - let's quit the daily numbers. It is, what it is, and will continue. We don't need to be reminded every time there is a case. It is becoming exhausting and tiring to keep hearing this stuff. Give it a rest please...
