COVID-19 claims 15th Yukoner as cases take sharp upturn

Another wave of COVID-19 has hit the Yukon hard over the last week, particularly over the New Year’s weekend.

By Whitehorse Star on January 4, 2022

Another wave of COVID-19 has hit the Yukon hard over the last week, particularly over the New Year’s weekend.

There are 269 active cases, the Yukon government reported late this morning. A total of 31 new cases were reported overnight Monday.

As well, the death of a 15th Yukoner has been attributed to the virus.

Dr. Catherine Elliott, the territory’s acting chief medical officer of health, reported the latest death of the Yukon citizen. The first death was reported in October 2020.

“I am very sad to report another COVID-19 death here in the Yukon,” Elliott said in a statement last week.

“My deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of this individual. Out of respect for the individual and their family, we will not be releasing any additional information.”

There is a 32 per cent test positivity rate.

That suggests the actual number of cases is far higher because many people are not being diagnosed.

Elliott is urging Yukoners to stay home when sick, with even the mildest of symptoms.

“Like most other jurisdictions in Canada, and as expected, we are unfortunately seeing the Omicron wave rising here in the territory,” she said. “Omicron continues to spread much faster than other variants we’ve seen.

“I am urging anyone who has even the slightest symptoms to stay home. We are hearing stories of whole families who are isolating, together even though maybe only two or three people are ill.

“To those people, I want to say thank you. Thank you for continuing to break the cycle of transmission, stopping the spread of COVID-19 and protecting our community. Staying home when sick, even mildly, is now more important than ever.”

Based on new recommendations from Elliott, additional temporary public health measures are being introduced in the Yukon to limit the spread of COVID-19.

In recent days, there has been community transmission of the Omicron variant.

Though the Yukon remains in a state of emergency, schools reopened this morning. Most other provinces and territories have delayed the resumption of the school year for at least several weeks.

Additional measures are being introduced to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and limit impacts on the health care system.

New, temporary public health measures include:

• Limits on indoor personal gatherings to 10 people from a maximum of two households if all eligible people are vaccinated; household members only if any eligible people are unvaccinated.

• Limits on outdoor personal gatherings to 25 people from a maximum of three households regardless of vaccination status.

• Limits on organized gatherings: proof of vaccination is required; indoor gatherings limited to 25 people or 50 per cent of venue capacity, whichever is less; outdoor gatherings limited to 50 people.

• Restrictions on restaurants, bars and nightclubs: proof of vaccination required for table service with a limit of six people per table; tables need to be spaced two metres (six feet) apart; no bar or counter eating or service; no moving between tables and no dancing.

• Restrictions on entertainment venues, including movie theatres, theatres and museums: proof of vaccination is required; limited to 25 people or 50 per cent venue capacity, whichever is less.

• Restrictions on recreation and leisure sites, including gyms, fitness studios, sports facilities and arts studios: proof of vaccination is required; limited to 25 people or 50 per cent of venue capacity, whichever is less.

• Recreational team sports: proof of vaccination is required; activities within cohort or teams only up to a limit of 25 people (e.g., practice, skills and drills); no games between teams. Out-of-territory travel for sporting events is not recommended.

• Limits on businesses and retail: maximum 50 per cent capacity. Businesses are strongly recommended to have operational plans in place to limit close contact among people and keep their employees and customers safe.

• Restrictions on personal services establishments: proof of vaccination is required; limited to 25 people or 50 per cent of venue, whichever is less.

• Restrictions on faith-based services: proof of vaccination is required; limited to 25 people or 50 per cent of venue capacity, whichever is less.

• Public saunas and steam rooms or baths are not allowed to operate.

Yukoners are strongly encouraged to follow these new measures immediately.

They will be enforced under the Civil Emergency Measures Act starting this Friday.

Mandatory masking continues to be in effect in all indoor public settings and in outdoor public settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained. All Yukoners are strongly encouraged to continue practising the Safe 6 at all times:

  1. Keep a physical distance of two metres (six feet) from people not in your household.

  2. Keep your hands clean – wash or sanitize them often.

  3. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should stay home and avoid going to work or other social places.

  4. Avoid crowds – follow public health recommendations for gatherings.

  5. Avoid unnecessary travel to communities – travel only for essential purposes and travel respectfully.

  6. Self-isolate if you have COVID-19, if you are waiting test results for COVID-19, or if you have been advised to do so by public health officials.

The news release stated, “It is strongly recommended that Yukoners entering or returning to the territory limit contacts to their household only during the first three days upon return.

“To prevent the spread, it is recommended that during the first five days of entry or return, people should only go into their community for essential needs.

“It is strongly recommended that all close contacts of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 isolate for seven days if the close contact has not received their booster shot.”

With the new Omicron variant spreading quickly in the territory, said Premier Sandy Silver, “We need to take action to protect the health and safety of all Yukoners and ensure our health care system is not overwhelmed.

“These new temporary public health measures are intended to limit the number of contacts between individuals and reduce transmission. We all have a role to play in keeping our territory safe and we all need to take precautions to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in our communities.”

Elliott offered more observations about the community transmission of the Omicron variant.

“This variant is highly transmissible, and we are seeing spread in household gatherings, workplaces and organized events and among vaccinated and unvaccinated people,” she said.

“This is expected, because even though the vaccine prevents some infections and many hospitalizations, it cannot prevent all of them.

“The Omicron variant has caused very high case counts across Canada and we can expect that in the Yukon. The goal remains to prevent severe outcomes and limit health system strain,” she added.

It’s strongly recommended that people who are fully vaccinated with a booster should avoid close contact with a confirmed case.

“Following the seven-day period of isolation, if no symptoms present, those contacts may leave isolation but should continue self-monitoring for seven more days because they may start experiencing symptoms of Omicron in that second seven-day period,” Elliott said.

Considering the Omicron variant, she noted, “transmission occurs when people are close to each other, but with Omicron it happens faster and to more people than with Delta.

“This is the time to keep gatherings limited to two households and small numbers and cancel any gatherings that are larger.”

A Whitehorse school confirmed a case of the virus last month.

“This is an urgent notice from the Department of Education for École Whitehorse Elementary School,” wrote Ryan Sikkes, an assistant deputy minister.

“Yukon Communicable Disease Control (YCDC) has confirmed a positive COVID-19 case affecting the Grade 2B class, and children who rode school bus route #11 or #25 on specific days.

“Letters from YCDC are attached to this email. They provide specific clinical direction for students and staff regarding who needs to self-isolate, who needs to be tested for COVID-19, and who needs to self-monitor for symptoms.”

For those digging through the numbers, remember that the numbers are for covid only. To see a bigger piece of the picture you need to know how many people total are hospitalized and why. We do not have this information as far as I know. Maybe proportionally there are more unvaccinated people hospitalized with covid, but it is possible the vaccinated are the overwhelming majority of non-covid patients. It is possible clots, stokes, cardiac arrest, autoimmune disorders are preeminent. I am not saying this is the case but I present the possibility from talking to friends in health care. We just don't know when the data is selectively spoon fed to the public.

While the whole world is obsessing over covid, the other deaths are going unnoticed.

The rapid increase in vaccinated covid cases has just recently skyrocketed and we don't know where it will go in the coming weeks. In Alberta in just the last day, the vaccinated hospitalizations when up 10% and the unvaccinated 1%. We will have to see if the escalating trend continues. I hope not, I would like to see all numbers drop.

I hope this situation will give people a reality check. All eggs were put in the vaccine basket and turns out it is full of holes. At the moment it looks to nothing more than a therapeutic treatment to reduce symptoms (that's all the manufacturers ever claimed it did). The problem is that it is being forced on the healthy. Treatments are for the sick. It is now evident that there is no group benefit to taking it.

The reason a lot of people won't stop going on about this topic is because the mandates, for which the rational has completely collapsed, are ruining peoples lives. I sure hope people can change their minds, otherwise you won't have to exile people anymore, they will actively remove themselves from society. For people that get a new perspective on covid and the discrimination that comes with it, they should be welcomed with open arms not a rude "i told you so".

Speaking of welcomed with open arms, it looks like Massage Therapy, Osteopaths, etc. are required to refuse treatment to unvaccinated in the Yukon starting today. It is a sad day for people with injuries. Is this one about health or punishment? The latter, obviously.

But this will end, and we will be back to some version of 'normal. The angry comments and bickering that we're seeing do absolutely no good. Vaccinated? You might get infected, but chances are pretty good that you won't need to be hospitalized. Not vaccinated? At this stage of the game, it's doubtful anyone is going to change your mind. So please, everyone, let's put a lid on the accusations and nastiness, and just carry on as best we can (and hats off to the teachers, EA's, support staff, health care workers, etc., etc., who just keep showing up!).

Let's take 1000 vaccinated people and 100 unvaccinated people
Let's expose them all to covid
20 (of the 1000) vaccinated people end up in hospital
10 (of the 100) unvaccinated people end up in hospital

What does that leave you with?
TWICE AS MANY PEOPLE IN THE HOSPITAL ARE VACCINATED!!
Doesn't that sound suspicious? Doesn't that make you doubt the vaccine?

Wait though -
let's take it a step further,
my example has 2% of vaccinated people needing hospitalization
and 20% of vaccinated people needing hospitalization
the same numbers - if looked at properly - show a 10x higher chance of needing to be in the hospital if you are unvaxxed
these are just numbers I made up to show you how dumb your post was - and how dumb the upvotes were.

At least Jeff B is trying to take it close to (but not quite there yet) by looking for numbers per unit of population.

Tu Shi. The Alberta site you reference indicates hospitalizations as follows: full vax-233, partial vax-19 no vax-218. So yes there are more vaxxed in the hospital than unvaxxed, but please understand that 85% of the population over 12 is vaccinated (73% of the total population) so hospitalizations per 100k of population is substantially less for vaxxed. Also from the same site, reference table 6 “ COVID-19 hospitalization, count and rate (per 100,000 population) in the past 120 days in Alberta by vaccine status”. Hospitalization outcomes per vax status skew heavily towards unvaxxed.
I do wish that local authorities would be more forthcoming with information so that we can draw our own conclusions. What I surmise from what I have looked at is that everyone (vaxxed and unvaxxed) are getting the virus, but your outcomes if vaxxed will be better than unvaxxed.
On a separate but related note, let us all thank Mother Nature for providing us with a weather circuit breaker. Enjoy the cold.

think a little harder... on Jan 6, 2022 at 8:00 am

Tu Shi:
Yes, there are currently more vaccinated than unvaccinated in the hospitals in Alberta, going by the numbers. If we include partially vaccinated along with fully vaccinated, it is about 54% vaccinated people in hospital. That immediately points to vaccines being effective, in a province where about 89% of people aged 12+ have at least one shot (i.e., the rate of covid cases is much higher in unvaccinated people, even for omicron). There are no current ICU numbers provided, but it would be a safe bet that those stats would show an even higher level of protection for vaccinated people.

Scroll down that same page a little and you will also find stats presenting rates per 100,000 of hospitalizations, ICU admissions, and deaths over the past 120 days, organized by vaccine status. You will see that that unvaccinated people are VASTLY more likely to end up in hospital, ICU, or dead, compared vaccinated people. It's not even close...

The cover up of relevant facts must stop now. The CMO can certainly tell us more details about the deceased without mentioning their name. This is done all the time with statistical reports. We're under vax mandates and fines if we don't stick to restrictions, under the claim of an emergency. What emergency exactly?
The CMO's omission of details about these deaths is only contributing to loss of credibility, as shown by most of the comments here. It's already come out indirectly that several of these so-called 'covid' deaths were in fact old and frail people with several pre-existing conditions which were most likely the cause of their deaths. Covid came into play only because they tested positive after the highly unreliable PCR test. Furthermore, several of them had received the covid vax. Continued silence about these important facts is taking us further into harmful and deceptive 'measures'. This has to stop now.

Love the line up at the testing center. How about giving everyone in that line up a kleenex and send them home. And keep the vaccinated home for a couple weeks to stop spreading this amongst themselves. It sure isn't the unvaxxed that is causing the spread because they have been separated from most venues and the case counts are all mainly vaxxed.

You DO understand also, that you cannot always trust what government and med professionals tell you?? Usually you cannot in fact.

Roy,
Alberta does a good job of publishing their data. I wish Yukon would follow suit.
This link shows the cases for vaccinated and unvaccinated:
https://www.alberta.ca/stats/covid-19-alberta-statistics.htm#vaccine-outcomes
At the time I am writing this there are:
30,286 completely vaccinated active cases, and 6,467 active unvaccinated cases.
Total = 36,753. 82% Are completely vaccinated.
3,961 new completely vaccinated cases, and 761 new unvaccinated cases.
Total = 4722. 84% are vaccinated.

85.3% of 12+ population is completely vaccinated and 89% are partially as seen here:
https://www.alberta.ca/stats/covid-19-alberta-statistics.htm#vaccinations

Note that case numbers are for all ages but vaccinated numbers are for 12+. With these numbers:
There is a slightly higher percent of active cases in unvaccinated and a slightly higher percent of new cases in fully vaccinated.

Total reported adverse reactions 2146.
Total deaths 3333 out of a population of 4,442,879 in a two year period.
If you look at the page that shows deaths you will see that most were already over the average age of death.

How many deaths are with, not from, covid?
How many excess non-covid deaths has there been in the last 2 years?

If you look at hospitalizations you will see there are 233 vaccinated vs 218 unvaccinated. So maybe if 100 percent of people were vaccinated there would be 200 less people in the hospital in a province of 4 million. But it isn't that simple. Those people are in hospital WITH covid. Many will have come to the hospital with other ailments then tested positive. Also remember that people are being hospitalized with adverse reactions, attempted suicide, drug overdose, etc caused by lockdowns. These numbers are likely higher than 200.

Roy's other questions:
Does the vaccine increase your chance of covid? I don't know. There are stats from Germany that say yes, and stats from Israel that say yes. Let's see the Yukon numbers and keep an eye on Canadian numbers.

The stats all over North America are too much to unpack here. I suggest looking total deaths year over year for each country to start, and see how much of an increase there was in 2020. Did the deaths increase or decrease after vaccinations?

IMAGINE we were living in medieval times.... and you’d been invited to a royal banquet.
The ones in charge were extremely keen to get you to drink the wine. They were very insistent.

“Drink this wonderful wine."
"No thank you."
"Be a good guest! Drink the wine. We uncorked it especially. It's a beautiful and rare vintage."
"No thank you. I appreciate the offer though."
"Drink the wine. It's very expensive but you can have a glass for free, and we'll give you an extra plate of supper."
"No I'm fine as I am.”
"Drink the wine and we'll feed your entire village for a week and reduce your taxes."
"Wow all that for wine? What's in it? Still, no thank you."
"We'll make you a Duke."
"Very generous but no thanks I'm content in my home."
“You are not anti-wine are you????”
“No I just don’t feel like drinking this wine this evening.”
"Drink the damn wine or we'll stop you working."
"Eh?"
You notice they’re getting desperate now.
"We'll ban you from markets."
"Wow your tone has changed."
"Now you need to drink 3 glasses or we'll stop you riding your horse or seeing your family for the next year."
"Wait, what? 3 glasses? Can't see my family?"
"Did we say 3 glasses? We meant 3 bottles."
"3 bottles?"
"Yes...every few months we want you to drink 3 bottles of this particular wine we've prepared indefinitely for the next years."
"Years??"
Yes, or we'll try you for treason."
"Ok what is IN this damn wine that you are trying SO HARD to get everyone to drink it?"
"We can't tell you. Trade secret."
"It's poisoned isn't it?"
"No..it's...ummm...it's just really really good for you. It's um, special healing wine."
"Then why all the threats?"
"We just need you to... I mean we strongly encourage you to drink the wine so you don't miss out."
"But the Earl drank a glass and collapsed."
"Unrelated."
"No...like he was fine then had a glass then keeled over...he's still on the floor writhing. Look at him! His face is blue and he's clawing at his chest."
"Coincidence. Guards...please escort the Earl to his chambers. He's had too much wine."
"I knew it was the wine! What about the rest of the court? Half of them also collapsed after the wine."
"Those guests got ill from something else. Probably the chicken."
"All at the same time?"
"You sure do ask a lot of questions! Guards! Guards... get this man his wine."
"I don't want it. What if something happens to me after drinking it?"
"We're not liable for that."
"Not liable for the wine you produce? I definitely don't want it."
"Drink your wine so everyone else doesn't get a hangover."
"Huh? That makes no sense. Maybe if they didn't keep DRINKING they wouldn't get HUNGOVER in the first place?"
"Look at these paintings of people drinking wine all over the gallery. Look how happy they look."
"Paintings? Look, I don't drink wine. I don't want the wine. Even the idea of drinking this wine leaves a bad taste in my mouth."
"Ah no matter if you don't want to drink it.”
"Ok good. Let's drop the subject now"
"You don't have to drink it. We can pump it directly into your veins. You won't even have to taste it"
"Wait, into my veins? Are you serious? I don't want your damn wine!"
"TAKE THE DAMN WINE NOW! We've already paid for a whole crate for each member of your family! We've signed an ongoing contract with the distillery! Anyone who talks badly about this wine will have their tongues cut out! People who are now drunk on the last batch will be reclassified as sober and must drink the new batch!
author unknown..

....and.... if you guardians of us all are looking for a sense of direction, I urge you to sit up and pay attention to the string of comments on this latest diatribe of rules we need to follow and act in line with what we are shouting in your ears.. Or not. Your call.

Jeff B - at least your trying to look at things appropriately.

Please post a link or give a location as to where you are seeing covid rates per 100,000 broken down to vaccinated versus unvaccinated. Let’s stick to countries that have robust systems - I don’t think stats out of failed states is gonna be helpful.

And please explain how you personally think the vaccine is *increasing* the chances of catching covid - if that is what you are implying. How could the vaccine increase the chances since we know that the vaccinated have milder cases (if they get covid) and therefore are less likely to notice or to even be tested.

And there are clear stats everywhere in North America showing that the most sick and the most likely to die from covid or the most likely to have lifelong health problems if they survive covid (ie the people filling up the ICUs in hospitals) are almost entirely unvaccinated. That fact doesn’t care about anyone’s feelings.

George A, Alberta is one of the places where the current covid rate is higher in the vaccinated. Last I checked at least. They took the lead before Christmas. Alberta, like many other places, have hired back the previously fired nurses to help with the current situation. In some provinces, the hired back nurses can work even after testing positive for covid.

Roy, in many places, including parts of Canada, the number cases per 100,000 in vaccinated people is higher than the number of cases per 100,000 in unvaccinated people. When you look at cases per 100,000 it accounts for the fact that more people are vaccinated.

Straight from the horses mouth:
The CDC director has publicly stated that vaccines do not stop the spread of covid (manufacturers never claimed they did).
The CDC director has publicly stated that PCR tests (the gold standard) are unreliable (just like the inventor did years ago).

Mandates and passports are based on numbers from unreliable tests and the false assertion that vaccines stop transmission. It's time to stop forcing an irreversible experimental therapy, and start promoting health and treatments. Are covid patients being sent home until they come back more sick or are they given treatment?

It's time to stop discriminating. These are real people that are having their lives ruined, not racist misogynist extremists.

I've been looking at the press release about the new recommendations set to become restrictions on Friday. I see that the recommendations about isolating after travel are directed at Yukoners. Did I read that right? Tourists don't get and give Omicron? Thank goodness...I will let my whole family know that they are safe to visit.

https://yukon.ca/en/news/additional-public-health-measures-introduced-response-spread-omicron-variant-yukon

But seriously, can someone ask about this in the presser tomorrow? I think Yukon needs to know whether this is post-holiday misspeak, or if we are truly pandering to the tiny January tourism industry while our schools are closing because too many staff are off sick.

Jeff Bikaboom. It's time to get those healthy social welfare recipients out doing snow shoveling on our city streets. They need to work for their free cheques.

Ok, the virus is here to stay. Everyone will get it eventually. The Omicron variant is the weakest of the variants, which suggests that the covid 19 is petering out and the new variants will be weaker. Eventually it will be just like getting a cold - which by the way, everyone gets. So, let's depend on our natural immunity to fight it and even over the counter drugs to make it more tolerable. But Governments, don't try to force me into getting any more vaccine poisons which have never been thoroughly tested - it takes 5 years to properly test a vaccine and iron out the wrinkles. I had my two and that is the limit. If the Gov. tries to force me to stay quarantined, they can put me in jail. Let's see how long they can keep me there. For those out there that are fighting for their freedoms,
God Bless you. and RESIST TYRANNY!

"It’s strongly recommended that people who are fully vaccinated with a booster should avoid close contact with a confirmed case."
And that about sums up the vaccines at this point. You're protected from the virus if you're triple jabbed and don't come into contact with the virus.

Where are the 35 thousand rapid test kits the Yukon has? Hand them out and let people use them. Why is she so afraid to do this ? They where developed for the public and public use. If I wasn’t feeling well I wouldn’t take time off and go down for a pcr test but I would take the rapid test at home and if it came back positive I would then go for pcr.

You internet scientists do understand that when 95% of the population is vaccinated then a large percentage of the covid cases will be in the vaxxed…because there is a much, much larger proportion of the population that is vaxxed….you do get how that works right? You get how that percentage alone doesn’t mean vaccines have failed…you get that right?

Because if that concept is too hard for you to wrap your head around you might want to leave any decisions harder than “can I eat this” to your caregivers.

While you start prepping your response to this maybe also think about this:
You can’t name a single vaccine - including the ones you had as a kid and also made sure your kids had - that forms a force field around your body that prevents that virus from getting inside your body. How could any vaccine block your mouth and nose from getting a virus in it?

You can still get all these viruses inside your body. FACT. The vaccines job is to prepare your immune system so that WHEN the virus enters your body is can be ready to fight it off.
No vaccine acts at the entrance of your nose and mouth to literally block viruses.

The fact that you all think of yourselves as doctors and scientists yet miss these simple facts is amazing to witness.
What did you think those childhood vaccines actually do? Did you even give it any thought?

Deja Moo - It's a New Year and all we're getting from these overpaid government meat-puppets is the same old recycled LIBgov talking-point BS propaganda. In a sane world one could expect these overpaid bureaucrats to be justifying their exorbitant salaries with useful information, like how many C0vid hospitalizations, and the VAX-status of those and any deceased supposedly from C0vid. But no, they continue to treat us like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed nothing but BS like before. One thing we can be certain of, the seriously afflicted victims are fully-vaxed, because if they were unvaxed we would be reminded of that in almost every comment they make.

Meanwhile have you noticed how infrastructure maintenance and government services are falling apart? We've had big snowfalls and -30 temperatures before and things kept running like normal. However now, streets are not getting plowed, meters are not being read, offices are still closed and people are inexplicably absent from their positions.

It should be obvious by now that the governments' uselessly insane VAX-mandate policy has compromised the workforce far more than is being reported. All it created is a situation where those who have morals, integrity, backbone, critical thinking abilities and skepticism have been taken out of the system leaving only those who are blindly compliant and easily controlled to somehow do the best they can.

Welcome to the "New Normal" of self inflicted government incompetence and if you don't like it thank those who voted LIB/NDP because this is what they wanted.

The purpose of an acting position, is to have someone at the Helm while there is competitive search for a replacement.
Someone needs to sign the purchase orders and time sheets.

All over Canada, and the world, the number of cases per 100,000 in vaccinated people is higher than the number of cases unvaccinated people. Please share the Yukon stats so we can see what we are discriminating against the unvaxxed for. If the logic for discrimination was sound it may now be time to ban the vaccinated from restaurants. I personally wouldn't wish this upon anyone, but we are in a state of emergency, and science. I am also ready to see the stats for non-covid excess deaths for last year too. Let's see how our medical officers have done. I believe their job is to improve health, have they done this? There is more to health than avoiding a virus.

A lot has changed over the holiday and the rational for passports and mandates has completely collapsed. When this state of emergency ends, so should the discrimination against those who believe in bodily autonomy.
It has been 2 weeks since the large snow fall. Why hasn't downtown had snow removal? I thought they were working 14/7 on it. Are the city workers negotiating? It may be time to bring in the C.O.s to remove it.

So here we go again. I am getting more miffed about the "advice" that is being shovelled to us every day. Look, I am not opposed to self monitoring, hell I do that daily on a variety of potential ailments. Everything from the flu, to chest pains, severe headaches, etc.. However now we are being told by her worship: “I am urging anyone who has even the slightest symptoms to stay home." So just what are those symptoms she is yarding on about? Well read and weep: "For all persons, if you have or have not travelled but have any the following symptoms, no matter how mild: fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, sore throat, loss of sense of taste or smell, headache, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea or muscle aches."

Hm, now think on this. There are a myriad of potential illnesses to anyone of the items noted above. Everything from the common cold, flu, to more serious ailments such IBS (irritated bowel syndrome). But, it matters not - if you are experiencing any of these symptoms you are to immediately self-isolate - including your whole family! What kind of quackery advice is that? Some of these symptoms can, and may often be life-threatening - shortness of breath (can be leading, or having a heart issues), fatigue can be signs of diabetes and/or heart problems, headaches can be warning signs for cerebral strokes, the list goes on. Instead of shutting people out what we need to tell people is if you feel it is necessary to seek medical assistance or care, then seek it out right away. Don't dither, as is being recommended by Elliott - it is your life and well being, she evidently doesn't give a crap about you. I for one will not heed her sermon from the mount. I am just bloody glad she is not my physician! Give me a bloody break!!!

It's obvious by now that vaccines don't work and never did. You are triple jabbed? No one cares, you are locked down again, lol. How much longer do you people want to play this rigged game? This ends when people stop getting tested and stop complying. PERIOD.

The vaxxed are the ones who are straining our healthcare system. You keep running to the hospital when you have the sniffles. You waste nurses times getting tested multiple times a a week. Side effects from the vax? Better go to the hospital, lol. I haven't been sick in over 2 years and haven't seen a doctor once. So who's the problem here? I will be on the right side of history. How about you?

I honestly feel bad for all the ones who were duped. 2 jabs and back to normal? Nope, endless boosters for life because the vaccine wrecked your immune system.

At least in Ontario they share the data, and to no ones surprise 80% of the cases are double vaxed people.. hmm.. ALL of this with restrictions in place, and complete segregation of the "dirty, disease ridden unvaxed" being allowed to show our support to local restaurants and services!

So, would the liberals like to share where they've traveled to over the break? Didn't think so. If Omicron started in South Africa, and only vaxed can fly, then CLEARLY vaxed are spreading this new , equally and non deadly varient around.

Here we go.. LOL well that was a lot of talk we've NEVER heard before.. same old script.
“My deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of this individual. Out of respect for the individual and their family, we will not be releasing any additional information.” were only asking one simple question, vaxxed up? And if so how many 2 or 3? Of course age is a factor too, as 94% of deaths have been 65+!

This article fails to emphasize this omicron variant of covid is very mild between the common cold and flu.
I got through it and it was fine getting around every day.
The vaccines don't seem to work well or at all on this variant.
The best defense is to follow the public health suggestions but life must go on as normal as possible.

Things could be worse. Imagine if Currie Dixon and the Yukon Party had won the last election (they only lost by a hair). They oppose the vaccine mandate, vaccine passports and many other pandemic measures like those to do with travel. Thankfully the liberals somehow held the line and fended off the conservative wave in the last territorial election.
