COVID-19 cases still declining

The COVID-19 outbreak in the Yukon continues to dwindle.

By Whitehorse Star on July 21, 2021

The COVID-19 outbreak in the Yukon continues to dwindle.

Dr. Catherine Elliott, the territory’s acting chief medical officer of health, has reported five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 between noon Monday and noon Tuesday. With recoveries, this brings the active case count to 65.

The total number of confirmed Yukon cases since March 22, 2020 is 527. There have been 458 cases since June 1, including out-of-territory residents diagnosed in the Yukon and probable cases.

For the new cases since 12 p.m. on July 19, there are five confirmed cases:

Two cases are in rural communities. Three locations are pending

Since June 1, 389 people have recovered and there have been four deaths.

Late Monday afternoon, Elliott reported that over the previous three days, the Yukon had seen 20 new cases of COVID-19 from noon last Friday noon through noon Monday.

Fourteen of the cases reported Monday are in Whitehorse. Four are in unidentified rural communities; two locations are to be confirmed.

There has been a total of six deaths since November 2020.

“As we move towards the end of summer and start thinking about fall, we need to make sure we are protected against the Delta variant,” Elliott said Monday.

“It is now even more important to get that second shot to ensure full protection. We honour all those who are stepping out to get their first shot, those who are completing their series and to those who are completely vaccinated, we say, ‘well done, and thank you for doing your part to keep us all safe.’

Tunes are starting to change but the Feds are still ahead of that September date they promised and delivered on.

This pandemic has been a real test in trust and who you can trust. Since the beginning politicians of all stripe have been blathering on about something most of them have no idea about, they get their speaking points from their medical team and here in Canada- Health Canada is in charge about what gets said and by whom. Those same politicians who have been previously caught lying through their teeth numerous times about other things should be trusted in what they are saying now? Why? If anything, I add a few grains of salt to what they comment about.
Emergencies of this scale evolve from the stages of not knowing much about it to sporadic research that gets interpreted differently by experts who still do not know but are making educated guesses on how things will play out in time.
Conflicting information also adds to the public's hesitation to follow direction as found in the mask - no mask recommendations.
Is mixing vaccines really safe or is it just the contrived solution to the federal government screwing up the vaccine orders so more Canadians could get jabbed within a planned time frame?
I don't see things changing anytime soon, but perhaps it could influence a few politicians to stop lying and earn back some trust of the public.
Ah perchance to dream - ay, there’s the rub.

Ya interesting the vaxed majority didn't need the vaccine and it cost us billions to buy it and administer it. Might want to check who’s in on the vax stocks. The cost of covid itself is minute, vax or no vax patients didn't even dent the med system yet the cost of vax and the lockdowns have cost us billions for generations to come. Think about that next time you complain about someone choosing not to vax.

Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from the virus they got vaccinated against because you're not vaccinated.

Look up “Doctors for Covid Ethics” (doctors4covidethics.org) for information on the risks of the covid vax. You’ll never hear about these issues from our controlled CMOs or mainstream media.

Here we go again, when the CMO says "As we move towards the end of summer and start thinking about fall, we need to make sure we are protected against the Delta variant", what this really means is expect more lockdowns to coerce you into taking endless booster shots for years to come. Just as Bill Gates directed, and he practically runs the WHO.

Gee I'm never sure which Covid story to tune into. Is this organized confusion?

Vaccines are not perfect, but they are helping - it's a fact, not a lie. The feds and territory are doing the best they can given the little information anyone has about this. People need to lose the “you’re not the boss of me” attitude and just do their part and get vaccinated. We have to get out from under this virus and vaccines give us our best shot.

Remember, doctors’ medical oath states that ‘informed consent’ must be provided, and this involves providing full information about the benefits and risks of any medical procedures, information about the various options, and no coercion of any form.

Also there is a complete lack of mention of therapeutics that are efficacious for treating covid, in particular Ivermectin. Look up “Frontline Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance” for a list of studies over the past year that demonstrate the efficacy of an Ivermectin protocol for treating covid. Ivermectin has been successfully used in several countries for treating covid over the past year.

Yukon doctors need to step up and provide that info.

Get vaccinated as soon as possible, the pandemic is now the unvaccinated people getting sick and dying or ending up in icu, so get the vaccine please protect yourself and your families. Unvaccinated people give the virus more opportunity to mutate into another variant so do your part get vaccinated

@BnR I live in a small community and travel back and forth almost every week to Whitehorse. I also know a lot of fellow unvaxxed in this community and we have yet to see a covid case. Throw your logic and rhetoric out the widow please.

It’s almost like having a high double vaccination rate is working at limiting community spread, which would make all the anti-vaxers wrong.
Hmmmm.

The lies continue: "It is now even more important to get that second shot to ensure full protection."

No SARS-COV-2 vaccine offers "full protection". Such a thing simply does not exist. You can still get the virus, become sick with COVID, and transmit the virus to others -- even when you are "fully" vaccinated. Transmission can still occur when both parties are "fully" vaccinated. Full protection, my a**.

Approximately 20% of the population, and even more according to some estimates, already have cross-reactive or pre-existing immunity to SARS-COV-2.
Add to this the unvaccinated that have been previously exposed to SARS-COV-2 and have since developed natural immunity.
Add to this the percentage of the population that is healthy and will never suffer serious effects of COVID.
Regardless of natural immunity or health status or vaccine risks, the "good" doctors insist you must be vaccinated.
