Top Left: STUDENTS’ EFFORTS RECOGNIZED – Governor General Academic Awards were handed out at the Commissioner’s Levee on Thursday. Attending were (left-right) Kirsten Smith from the new J.V. Clark School in Mayo, Marc Beaudin from Ecole Emilie Tremblay in Whitehorse, Jennifer Heynen from F.H. Collins Secondary School and Shari Lynn MacLellan from Vanier Catholic Secondary School. Unable to attend were Marcus Johnsen from Watson Lake Secondary School, Christina Still from Porter Creek Secondary School, Jennifer Touchie from Robert Service School in Dawson City and Sharon Baker from Del Van Gorder School in Faro.

Right: MUSICAL COUPLE HONOURED – Veteran Whitehorse musicians Bill and Rusty Reid each receive a Commissioner’s Award for public service from Commissioner Jack Cable (left) at the Commissioner’s Levee on Thursday. The Reids have been active in the community for many years. They founded the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association and are active in the Whitehorse Photography Club, among other things.
