The Yukon government will begin COVID-19 vaccination clinics for children aged five to 11 on Dec. 6, it announced Thursday.

Children will be receiving the Pfizer (Comirnaty) pediatric vaccine. First and second doses will be administered eight weeks apart.
“Families and young children have made many sacrifices to keep our communities safe during this pandemic,” said Health and Social Services Minister Tracy-Anne McPhee.
“Many have had to self-isolate due to COVID-19 exposures in child care or school settings. They have missed sporting events and postponed birthday parties and other milestone events. We are excited to be able to offer vaccines to children aged five to 11.”
“Vaccination against COVID-19 is an important tool to protect our children aged five to 11 and our community,” said Dr. André Corriveau, who has been the acting chief medical officer of health for the past two weeks.
“While most children do not get seriously ill from COVID-19, some do, and all infected children can transmit the virus to more vulnerable friends and family members.
“I urge all parents and guardians to take advantage of this opportunity to vaccinate five- to 11-year-olds.”
Vaccination clinics will be held across the Yukon starting the week of Dec. 6.
In Whitehorse, the vaccination clinic will be at the Coast High Country Inn Convention Centre. In communities, outside of Whitehorse, appointments will be at health centres.

Appointments for children’s clinics in communities will be posted online by the end of this week.

A vaccine was developed by Dr. Alan Powell Goffe. Born in England of an English mother and Jamaican father, both physicians. Due to anti vaccine attitudes in Germany and Europe a new measles epidemic has arisen.
As for my critical assessment of you, Josey Wales, anyone using the pseudonym of an American civil war Confederate outlaw currently sowing the seeds of civil conflict and unrest on the pages of the Yukon's free press, taking a shot at Hammer for a valid point on Bonanzajoe's ridiculous statement about children's immunity, what can I say?

They could easily conclude you left school an hour or so earlier than all the other kids, in a shorter bus.

You may have a point though, age is no assurance of intellectual ability.
I meet more smart, wise and honest older people than I do young.
One has to spend some time alive before comprehending the importance of having ones own thoughts, based on often many years of experience.
Experience at what? Living, when living was not always so easy.

Lawrence Bredy - Obviously by "full immunity" I meant "peak immunity". As effective as the vaccines are at limiting transmission very few, with the notable exception of anti-vaxxers looking for a strawman to pound on, claimed that the vaccines would prevent all infections.
My opinion - You do what you want. The vaccines have now been administered to millions of American children for about a month so no guinea pigs in the Yukon.

Kc...full immunity? Unless your head is in the sand, you must know this is an experimental vaccine, and apparently provides no immunity from the intended target.
Polio vaccine...immunity
Smallpox vaccine...immunity
Covid vaccine...oh you can still get it and transmit it and be asymptomatic, blah, blah, blah

I don't understand the delay. NWT started vaccinating last week. Nunavut started vaccinating last week. The provinces started vaccinating last week. Why is it taking a week longer for the Yukon to roll this out?
It may not sound like much but we're still 8 weeks out from the second shot and two weeks after that for full immunity. This delay just means another week off exposure notices, self isolation, loss of learning and inconvenience to the families of small children.
Maybe there is a good reason why we were last to start vaccinating 5-11s but the government hasn't offered it.

I got the injection pretty much by force. Was told I could get the shots and keep my job, or not get the shots and quit. So, I got them, with the promise that things were going back to normal.
Here I come back from work, everyone now is wearing a mask, I had to show proof to eat at Earls. WTF.
So, NO, my Children will not be getting the shot. And if that means they have to be home schooled, then fine. But this whole false pandemic has to stop now.
I’ve not participated in any protests or signed any petitions, but now is the time.
I’m done with this.

Is this optional?
Will the government be implementing a similar, "You can't participate if you're not vaxxed," policy?
Kids not being able to participate in activities if they don't show their vax status?
Surprised the article doesn't at all say "voluntary" or "required."

Why does the A/CMOH recommend Yukoners to accept mRNA shot which is now revealed as "cell and gene therapy" by Bayer's executive at the World Health Summit in Oct 2021. Yukoners are looking for protection from Covid not therapy of our genes.

We should have just let the initial virus burn through society and been done with it. Instead we decided to destroy civilization so that Grandma could live for 2 more years, but during those 2 years, you still couldn't go see Grandma, and now when she dies you'll say goodbye over a tablet.

The fatal conceit of the vaccine passport program of course is that the vaccines don't stop transmission. Just yesterday the WHO said they reduce transmission by 40% in the Delta variant, and that wanes over time. Children are statistically at near-zero risk from COVID.

Children and young adults are at extremely low risk of serious disease or death because of Covid. Yet, our government is pushing parents to vaccinate their kids with a novel product that has ZERO long-term safety data.
Amazingly, the vaccination rate for 11-17 year olds in the Yukon is over 84% (at least one jab) even though these kids have almost zero risk of serious illness.
Now the same talking heads are pushing to jab 5-10 year olds.
The US is already planning jabs for babies and toddlers.

Children have to rely on their own immune system. Natural immunity is more effective than than any vaccine. It really amazes me how stupid intelligent people can become. But then, in my 80 years, I have seen the evolution from intelligence to stupid take place.
