Khà Shâde Héni Lynda Dickson resigned as the chief of the Carcross-Tagish First Nation last Friday, citing health reasons.

A byelection will be scheduled as soon as possible, though it may not happen until late spring or early summer.

According to a statement from the First Nation, “the executive council received the written resignation from Khà Shâde Héni Lynda Dickson effective immediately.”

She was thanked for her service to the First Nation.

Dickson was elected to a four-year term on June 30, 2020 after having won a 2019 byelection.
