Chief medical health officer has advice for staying healthy

By Whitehorse Star on December 13, 2022

With the holiday season upon us and respiratory illnesses circulating in the territory, it’s important to put into practise everything we have learned over the past two years to reduce the spread of illness and make personal choices about how we manage our own risk.

That was the message issued Monday by Dr. Sudit Ranade, the Yukon’s chief medical officer of health.

“The best way to protect yourselves, children and loved ones from respiratory illnesses is to get vaccinated,” Ranade said.

Appointments can be made by visiting yukon.ca/appointments or calling your local health centre.

“Vaccination is the best protection against severe illness, including hospitalization and death,” Ranade said.

“During the holidays, there will be an increase in the number of social gatherings where respiratory illnesses may spread through close contact with friends and family.

“Although this presents a risk of transmission, socializing with loved ones also provides both physical and mental health benefits. I encourage Yukoners to balance their own needs and risks when deciding whether to attend or host a social gathering.”

Ranade offered more advice on ways to keep healthy.

“Yukoners are reminded to stay home when they are sick, consider an outdoor event if the weather permits, gather in smaller groups, wash your hands often, and to wear a mask if you are feeling unwell and need to leave your home to get essential items such as medication and groceries,” he said.

“If you are planning on gathering with people who are vulnerable or elderly, please postpone your visit if you are feeling unwell and respect their comfort level around socializing,” the physician added.

“We have been through a lot over the course of the pandemic and I want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. I hope that you’re all able to connect with those that mean the most to you, whether it’s in person or virtually.”

@ broke toker

You said "The same lawsuit should occur here in the Yukon."
LOL what is stopping you? File a lawsuit. Represent yourself and others.

Something tells me you'll have a laundry list of excuses why you won't.
But let's be 100% clear - nothing is preventing you from filing - except weak excuses.

People love, when they hear about a lawsuit, to act like it's already been won.

If you think it won't be successful in the Yukon (cause of the Libs or whatever) then go ahead and extend that thinking to the reported 3 million claims in BC (which is just laughable exaggeration but good to see gullible people falling for it) - maybe you shouldn't get all excited - you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Some facts before you press thumbs down - the majority of provinces and territories were led by Conservative premiers during the pandemic - I bet you can't name one that did not institute vaccine mandates and lockdowns....

Hello Everyone - Great News on the Covid fallout front:

“The lawyer for a group seeking to certify a class action lawsuit against B.C.'s provincial health officer for damages allegedly caused by unjustified COVID-19-related orders says the proceedings could result in as many as three million claims.

Polina Furtula told B.C. Supreme Court Justice David Crerar Tuesday the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Science in Public Policy would seek both a lump sum to punish the province for breaching charter rights and specific amounts tailored to damages alleged by individuals.”

According to their notice of claim, the group believes Dr. Bonnie Henry and the province "invoked extraordinary executive powers predicated on unsubstantiated scientific and legal grounds with catastrophic consequences for British Columbians."

"The [Public Health Act] orders do not discriminate between the sick and the healthy, collectively punishing a whole group," the claim reads.

"The reality is that either all or some of the ministerial orders were not necessary to 'prevent, respond or alleviate' the effects of COVID-19 to the population of British Columbia."

If certified, Furtula said the suit would have three subclasses: 328,000 people who saw medical procedures delayed or cancelled, 376,752 people who were not double-vaccinated and did not get exemptions and 37,000 people who weren't vaccinated for religious reasons.

The same lawsuit should occur here in the Yukon.

Use correct assumptions: GIGO on Dec 17, 2022 at 1:46 pm

@ It's math bases their analysis on a false assumption.
There is NOT an equal number of vaccinated and unvaccinated people getting sick. Very few purebloods are getting sick, especially those taking supplemental vitamin D.

Yukoners, you need to be aware where all the money is going. Here we are told to not burden the health system, while this one fell under the radar:

https://yukon.ca/en/news/regulatory-change-enables-insurance-coverage-gender-affirming-care-services

You can't get hemodialysis, but change your gender as you please, all paid for by healthcare. Not many are aware that trans-gender people are actually moving to the Yukon to receive these free services. This needs to be made known.

It's too late for that for many of us. Last Christmas the unvaxxed were forbidden from attending family gatherings and as a result I'm more or less estranged from my family because they call me an antivaxxer and don't want me home for Christmas. They fully bought in to the government propaganda I will never forgive the government for what they did to me and my family. Things were said during this time that we can't really recover from. I was treated like a leper by my own family who raised me.

Thought police! Yep, you’re right! I forgot about the salt water. A friend texted me and said her Mom put a towel on her head, and her face over a pot of boiling water for the steam..I don’t remember that one, but I had cold air vaporizers for my kids. The old days, the old ways, not that bad.

For those that are old but use the walking track at the Canada Games Centre the fact that the elevater has been out of order for two months really causes a major problem. When is it going to be fixed?

It’s math! on Dec 14, 2022 at 5:45 pm

Dear Richard Smith: it’s basic math, so the percentages can seem confusing. Let’s use real numbers as an example. Say there’s an overall population of 100 people. If 80% of the people have been vaccinated for a disease (e.g. COVID—19,) and there are an equal number of vaccinated and unvaccinated people getting sick, then of the vaccinated people, that’s 10 sick people. Of the unvaccinated people, that’s also 10 sick people too. But that means that half (10 of 20 people which is 50%) of unvaccinated people got sick, and only 10 of 80 or 12.5% of vaccinated people got sick. So while you are right, and it seems like an equal number of vaccinated and unvaccinated people are getting sick, you are actually more likely to get sick if you aren’t vaccinated. That’s because so many people have been vaccinated. Please note, I am leaving politics aside and I don’t mean to be insulting you or anyone else for your questions. It’s just confusing because of how percentages work.

Must watch this speech by UK Member of Parliament exposing corruption and harms caused by the covid-19 injections. Similar investigation needed in Canada.

Quoting Dr Malhotra:
“The most important parliamentary speech you will see & it may save your life. MP calls for suspension of mRNA vaccine because of unprecedented harms & little benefit. ‘Something is rotten in British medicine & has been for a long time”

As an unjabbed healthy senior, I found the Canadian Covid Care Alliance website very helpful:
https://www.canadiancovidcarealliance.org/

Quote:
“Scientific and medical research continues to show that COVID-19 is a preventable and treatable illness. It was on this foundation that the Canadian Covid Care Alliance was created, with the goal of helping Canadians access preventative and early outpatient treatment for COVID-19.
This guide is a resource to inform you of options and tools, which may apply to you and your family.”

Does it not seem odd for Dr. Renade to vaguely reference respiratory illnesses as a reason to get vaccinated without mentioning specifically which vaccine he is referring to? So is our fine Dr. trying to say that *any* vaccine is the best way to protect your family from any illness?!

It seems to me that Renade’s words are those of a shill to big pharma not of a man who cares about the health and well-being of those he is supposed to protect. For if it was truly our best interests he has in mind why no mention that well over half of the Canadian population is deficient in vitamin d which contributes to a less than optimal immune system? Why not mention that if you smoke, drink excessively, are over weight, eat too many processed ‘food like substances’ vs actual food, or live a sedentary life style that you are ever more susceptible. Something else that can contribute to the severity of sickness- fear. It is the killer of the mind after all.

It’s my opinion that if someone make improvements in any of these areas it will make a positive difference to your (mental and physical) health which in turn gives you a better chance at fighting off germs.

I completely agree with what Juniper Jackson said and would like to add one more thing- gargling with salt water is such an effective way at killing viruses and bacteria before they have a chance to further enter the respiratory system.

https://www.healthline.com/health/salt-water-gargle#benefits

There are many home remedies that were successfully used for generations before modern medicine and it’s time to familiarize ourselves with them again, in my ever humble opinion.

Dr. Sudit Ranade fails to mention the numerous reports of excess deaths in many countries coinciding with the covid-19 injections.
However, many groups of concerned health professionals are providing this information. Here’s one:

World Council for Health - https://worldcouncilforhealth.org/

“Dr Peter McCullough: "This will go down as the biggest biological pharmaceutical safety disaster in the history of mankind....by a mile...this will go down worse than most wars in terms of mortality".”

Explain Dr. Ranade why more people, mainly children, are vaccinated this year yet there is an epidemic of respiratory
Illnesses,
Explain why there is about an equal the number of vaccinated people getting these respiratory illnesses as unvaccinated.
Yet the unvaccinated don't have the many side effects of the vaccinations.
It seems the only people benefiting from vaccinations are big pharma.

In my day, what is now called a fearful RSV respiratory infection, was called..please take a seat for this revelation. A COLD. Today, we call for treatments and "even death and hospitalization" awareness. In my day, we called for Canada Dry, some cough medicine that my Mom came up with, Bob Barker and the Price is right. (a drop of warm olive oil if you got an earache, and a jar of hot water to put on it). There is an entire generation being brain washed about health and care. What vaccination is this dude talking about anyway? the Covid? the last I heard, there is no vaccination against a cold.

Just keep jamming up Emerge with kids with a runny nose, or a oough. The good Doctor here is certainly promoting its use.

These CMO are only losing credibility when pushing ‘vaccines’ without ever mentioning associated risks. They are failing their professional obligation to tell us about hospitalizations rates among the jabbed, versus the non-jabbed.

Meanwhile, there is continually more evidence coming up about the serious adverse events and deaths resulting from the covid jabs. Here is just one example, from a doctor who has enough integrity to speak up:

Influenza is a predominately seasonal disease directly related to deficient blood levels of vitamin D from lack of sunlight exposure in winter. This is proven by tens of thousands of empirical studies by medical scientists. Don't let ignorance keep you sick every winter, educate yourself, take supplemental vitamin D and be healthier.
