The RCMP's Watson Lake detachment is investigating an incident of bullying and assault with matches after four youth suffered from minor burns on April 3.
Investigation found that between 7:30 and 8 p.m., two 13-years-old males were burning a group of younger youth with matches outside of the Watson Lake RecPlex, Sgt. John Bennett said this morning.
'It's not a common incident,' Bennet said of the burning or even reports of youth playing with matches.
The youth who suffered the burns are between the ages of eight and 11.
Police were informed of the bullying last Wednesday through a complaint call from an adult. Bennett was unable to say what the individual's relation to the incident is.
'We're dealing with youth and it's a matter before the courts,' said Bennett.
The RCMP are continuing to investigate the matter.
Two Watson Lake youth have been charged with assault with a weapon. They are scheduled to appear in court in Watson Lake on April 16.
Their identities are protected from publication under the federal Youth Criminal Justice Act.
