The Canada Games Centre elevator that provides access to the third floor and walking track remains out of service, the city said Tuesday.

In November 2022, a burst water line damaged the device’s electrical system – including computerized components.

A contractor has been hired to repair the elevator, but a custom piece is on back order – with no estimated timeline for arrival.

For patrons who cannot access the walking track, the city suggests:

  • walking the upper concourse (similar to mall walking);

  • participating in drop-in programming;

  • using the Wellness Centre (fitness specialists are available to provide an orientation); and

  • asking staff about additional programming options.

“We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time,” the city said.

“We look forward to providing more information once repairs are complete.”
