Both the constable and the other driver were taken to Whitehorse General Hospital by ambulance.
Meanwhile, lending a stranger a hand in the middle of the night has cost a downtown resident his wife's jewelry.
He answered the door at about 3:40 a.m. today to discover a woman he'd never seen before. The woman told him she was cold and asked to use his phone, said Whitehorse RCMP spokesman Sgt. John Sutherland.
The woman asked the resident if he was alone at home. She then asked to use the washroom.
It wasn't until she had left that he discovered the stranger had made off with jewelry his wife kept in the bathroom.
Police are currently attempting to track down the stranger.
A Hanna Crescent resident is also missing some items, though it's unknown who is responsible.
A window was broken and a DVD player and DVDs were stolen. The break-in was reported at 2:12 a.m.
