Transit service and parking will be affected by the annual Kilrich Yukon Native Hockey Tournament.

The large event will take place at the Canada Games Centre (CGC) and Takhini Arena from Thursday to Sunday.

As parking at the CGC will be limited, anyone planning to visit the facility is encouraged to vehicle-pool, ride buses or use overflow parking to assist with traffic flow, the city said Tuesday.

Drivers are asked to respect designated spaces, as parking control will be enforced.

“Please do not block transit lanes, including the stairs connecting to the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre,” the city said.

“Vehicles will be towed if they are parked in designated no-parking areas.”

Bus riders planning to get on or off a Route #2 or Route #3 bus at the CGC will be asked to use the stop along Hamilton Boulevard. The Handy Bus will continue to use the regular CGC stop.

Drop-in activities at the CGC arenas will pause while the hockey tournament is underway and resume Sunday.

The hockey tournament finals will take place Sunday at the Takhini Arena.
