City bus drivers will be wearing their new uniforms as soon as they have their pants.

Whitehorse Transit manager Dave Muir said this morning the top half of the new uniforms have been delivered to the city, but that his department is still waiting for the bus drivers' pants.

'In January, we'll be instituting the dress code,' he said in an interview.

'Most of the uniforms are in, but we're still waiting for the pants.'

Muir said the supplier of the pants, The Main Man, has had some supply problems which have caused the delivery of the pants to be delayed.

'I think they may have changed suppliers,' he said.

The new uniforms, Muir said earlier this year, cost $15,000 and will be casual in nature.

'We've got navy blue pants, vest and jackets and a denim stone-washed shirt.'

'There will be cargo pants for the winter and shorts for the summer and long sleeves for winter and short sleeves for summer.'

He said bus drivers will also be provided with the option of wearing a toque for winter or ball caps for summer.

'There will also be headbands for the ladies,' he said.

Spokespersons for The Main Man could not be reached for comment.
