Poor weather in Vancouver has made travel agents in Whitehorse busier.
Gayle Brisley, a senior travel consultant with Whitehorse Travel, said in an interview this morning her company has been fielding more calls this week as a result of Air Canada flight cancellations.
The airline, she said, hasn't been able to get a flight into the territory since Saturday.
'Air Canada hasn't been able to get a flight in or out due to the weather in Vancouver,' she said.
'We're doing lots of assisting with clients in rebooking flights and booking hotel rooms,' Brisley said.
'We're extremely busy.'
Vancouver has been in the grips of a weekend snowstorm which has been causing strife across that city.
Since the Air Canada aircraft which leaves Vancouver in the evening is the same plane that leaves Whitehorse on its return trip, Brisley said, there's nothing coming in or out of the territory.
Air North, she added, was able to get flights out because it left at an earlier time of day.
She said most of her customers have been very understanding.
'Longtime Yukoners understand, weather is weather,' she said.
She said travellers looking to get to Vancouver are being asked to be patient as ticket holders will be moved on a flight-by-flight basis.
