Unions across the territory invite all Yukoners to celebrate Labour Day with a free lunch at the annual Feed the People Barbecue between

11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday in Shipyards Park.

"Come out and enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, corn-on-the-cob and an ice cream dessert, and enter draws for great prizes,” the unions said in a statement.

Everyone who comes is eligible to enter and win one of two iPads, two iPods and a trip for two with Air North to Edmonton, Calgary or Vancouver.

This year's event will feature music, old-time sack races and games for the whole family, along with Bouncy Castles and face painting for the kids.

The barbecue is sponsored annually by Yukon Employees Union Local Y010.

This year's event is made possible with the help of additional sponsors.

Those include PSAC North, the Yukon Federation of Labour, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the United Steel Workers, UA Local 301, Canadian Auto Workers, the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, the Yukon Teachers Association, and the YEU.
