Arrests made after big disturbance

A 37-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were arrested over the weekend following a large disturbance and fight at the Capital Hotel in downtown Whitehorse, the RCMP said this morning.

A 37-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were arrested over the weekend following a large disturbance and fight at the Capital Hotel in downtown Whitehorse, the RCMP said this morning.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police received several 911 calls reporting the disturbance and immediately sped to the scene.

Charges of assault with a weapon are pending against the male and charge of assaulting and obstructing a peace officer are pending against the female.

Police are requesting any witnesses to the disturbance and fight incident to please contact them.

Reports of Taser use during the incident could not be confirmed by police.
