The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Yukon continues to rise.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Yukon continues to rise.
On Monday afternoon, Yukon public health officials reported 60 active cases and 29 new cases since last Friday.
During last Wednesday’s COVID-19 briefing, the acting chief medical officer of health, Dr. Catherine Elliott, said the Yukon was averaging eight cases a day.
The latest number is showing a moderate increase over that.
The numbers issued Monday do not specify what variant of COVID-19 is being detected.
Elliott has said the government would track and release the number of cases of the Omicron variant in the territory.

Want to play a fun game? Type any 4 digit number into google followed by “new cases”. You can also just type in “xxxx new cases”. The majority of these articles are automatically created by bots with an RNG number between 1000-9999. That's all well and good until you realize they are not just random websites, there are mainstream news sites among the results. What does this imply? It implies that somewhere out there is an AI writing thousands of articles with fabricated numbers, and people are reading these articles.

Mathew, very few will choose to "learn to live' with Cancer. Most of us try to do what we can to either avoid it or, if we tried but failed, to minimize its effects. Similarly, people take vaccines to avoid Covid and, if that fails, we know from current statistics that the vaccine seems to at least minimize its effects.

IF the dead count was 1220, I can then see the restrictions, but since more dead from drug over doses we need to open the damn economy up again at full capacity and learn to live with covid, just like we have done with the flu, cancers, strokes, etc

Just today the World Health Organization stated that first world countries policy of repeated vaccinations is just delaying a solution.
This is turning into a show, desperate politicians will continue to shoot off rockets and call press releases until, eventually, some day, it won't matter any more, and those in the tall chairs will sit back and say; "See, you should have trusted us all along."

It seems now that all the angst and frustration with our "Government" is NOT because they tell us what we don't like to hear!
Rather it is because at the same time we watch 'Government' pursue whatever is to their own advantage; A PM who is immune to conflict of interest, two standards of rules as elected officials continue to travel, locally a Minister who responds to a disfunctional hospital by hiring yet a second Deputy Minister, a City who responds to a housing shortage by hiring more staff, and creating rules that benefit them more than the public need.
We can take bad news, or clearly needed restrictions, we really can, but we are starting to refuse to accept clear self-serving nonsense.

What is this title for? Ridiculous. I m sorry but who cares how many cases we've had for 2 years!!!!! Did you care how many flu cases the last 10years? Did you care how many suicide for 2 years? How many overdose? How many heart attacks? How many diabetes related deaths? Come on... I don't care about cases at all and even the death number is weird cause in your numbers there are people that died of Covid and some people that died with Covid and that is not at all the same. Just playing with fear. It worked until now, congratulations but I sure hope the population will not follow anymore... Enough is enough.

I’m not sure where our health officers are hiding or they fail to have wifi, but if you research any information on omicron out of South Africa you will find that it spreads at a rate of 2x to 5x that of the others covids and to date it has mild symptoms. Basically everybody will get it and we will have to blow our nose through it.

Omicron is a cold. That's what the data tells us. it's a cold! Only a lunatic psychopath would want to shutdown society or put any measures in place at all to fight a cold. It's what the data shows. Period.
The data also shows those vaxes are a waste of time costing taxpayers billions...including pushing them for this common cold AND doing so with little children who's immune system doesn't require help nor are they 'spreaders'.

At least 9 out of 10 people I see now are masked up. Many are keeping their distance. At least 86% have been vaccinated at least once. Actually most have been vaxed twice. Many have been vaxxed 3 times now. And the cases are rising. So, tell me Elliot and comrade Silver, what is causing this phenomenon? If you don't know, tell us. If you do, tell us. Start giving us details so we can do our part to avoid getting the virus.
I know with all my heart, the Yukon Party and the new Freedom Party would do everything they could to keep us informed and help us avoid this plandemic. But, like every socialist communist party and government before, need to keep the people uniformed, under control and in line. Get this straight, "we the people" are getting fed up.
