The Guild Society is preparing to present its last show of the season, Hunter Gatherers, by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb.

The plot sees Pam and Tom hosting their best friends, Wendy and Tom, for their annual dinner get-together.

Kicked off by an animal sacrifice, the evening devolves into a little more sex, violence, deception, revelations, wrestling, dancing than at previous parties, and has a soundtrack perfect for the class of ‘98.

The Guild advises audience members to “get ready for a darkly comic evening where the line between civilized and primal man is blurred, and not everyone will survive long enough to enjoy the brownies for dessert!”

“I thought I would finish my tenure at The Guild with something as hilarious as it is dark,” said outgoing artistic director Anthony Trombetta.

“This is one of the sharpest, laugh-out-loud funny shows you’ll ever see. This show will be as much fun to do as it will be to watch!”

The Guild has welcomed back acclaimed Vancouver director Brian Cochrane, who previously helmed the hugely successful The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Cochrane’s cast includes an all-experienced ensemble ready to tackle the darkly comic waters.

Back on the Guild stage from the massive hit Chicago, Wendy is played by Carrie Burgess.

With his last turn on stage performing in the epic Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolfe, Mike Ellis plays Tom.

Last seen as C.B.’s sister in the phenomenal Dog Sees God, Brynn Lepp plays Pam.

And, very fresh off his recent run in The Improv Project, Jason Westover is playing Richard.

The technical team for Hunter Gatherers, which is recommended for mature audiences, is Trombetta (stage management) and Kaori Torigai (production management).

Show dates are April 21-May 7, with a preview planned for April 20. All shows are 8 p.m. sharp at The Guild Hall, located on 14th Avenue in Porter Creek.

Advance ticket purchases are recommended.
