  • Ont.'s adoption bill quashes right to privacy If you are an adoptee or birth parent born in Ontario, the proposed Adoption Disclosure Bill, namely, Bill 183 is something you need to be aware of.
  • Number of abuse reports rising On Tuesday, the Public Health Agency of Canada reported an alarming increase in the incidence of substantiated child abuse cases. This is both bad news and, ironically, very good news.

  • Now is the time to oppose infill Don't be fooled into thinking the Porter Creek infill will only affect Porter Creek residents. It will dramatically change a unique ecosystem in the middle of our city. Become informed before it's too late and gone forever. You can never bring it back, once it's been developed.

  • Carcross as a destination at what cost? I sit here in Carcross and wonder how did things ever get so messed up. There is a plan that's been developed and being implemented to make Carcross a destination . I don't remember any meetings, or even being asked about this in the community of Carcross.
  • Porter Creek infill needs to be nixed I have been very upset by the recent meeting of the Porter Creek residents and the city planners regarding the proposed destruction of our recreational area with infill.
  • Canada exceeding carrying capacity Paul Martin is planning to increase immigration to 300,000 per year.

  • My response is: donation denied I find it very disturbing that the Yukon government is asking for donations from the public to raise money in order to purchase an MRI machine (Star, Sept. 29).
  • The Yukon dream' also victimized me Catching up on-line with my old town newspaper, The Toronto Star, I noticed the headline, ' Gold Rush' dream dashed. Yukon orders former Ottawa man off land he's been working undetected'.
  • Bring back the bear hunt! At about 4 a.m., Sept. 21, a logging worker in the Pakwash Forest near Red Lake, Ont., became the latest Ontario citizen to pay the price of the McGuinty government's continued disregard for the safety of Ontario residents.
  • Encourage the switch to electrical heating This is an open letter to Yukon Energy personnel.
  • I feel we've been unfairly accused This is a response to Roseanne Heffner's letter regarding a veterinarian not responding to an emergency call.
  • They arrogantly demand ID If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
