  • Sister applauds River Quest contender First off, I would like to congratulate all the brave participants of this year's Yukon River Quest, which the Whitehorse Star called "one of the toughest adventure marathon events in the world," for their incredible feats of endurance, stamina and sportsmanship. You are to be respected and applauded just for participating, no matter what your final time.
  • Yukon Utilities board position conveys weakness The Utilities Consumers' Group (UCG) would like to inform the public about what is now taking place in front of the steward of our electrical rates in the Yukon. At this time the Yukon Electrical Co. Ltd.(YECL) has an application in front of the Yukon Utilities Board (the board) to increase our rates approximately nine per cent by way of interim rate riders effective July 1st. 2008 to make up for what they call a revenue shortfall for 2008.
