It wasn’t meant to be for the Dirty Northern Muckers last night at the Northwestel rink.

Trailing 1-0 following the first period, the Muckers fell to the Midget A Mustangs in an interdivisional Whitehorse Rec Hockey League matchup 7-3.

Cody Mitchell led the Muckers with two goals, while Mike Arnold and James McGrath scored two apiece for the Mustangs. Arnold also added an assist.

“The score was not indicative of how close the game really was,” said Muckers blueliner Bud Arnold, and father of the aforementioned Mike Arnold.

“We had solid goaltending, but a few miscues and the Midget A Mustangs found the back of the net.”

Jamie Tetlichi (1G, 2A), Liam Webster (1G, 1A), and Jarrett Malchow rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs, while Chase Hobbis added two assists.

Jamie Steves netted the B division Muckers third goal.

Midget B Mustangs 4, Bantam A Mustangs 1

In Rec C action last night, the Midget B Mustangs defeated the Bantam A Mustangs 4-1.

Malachi Lavalee, Karter Kazakoff, Jeremy Leamon, and Kadin Kormandy scored for the Midget B Mustangs, while Spencer Lessard had the lone marker for the Bantam A side.

Murphy Built 4, Yukon Brewing 2

Alain Desrochers scored the first two goals of the game as Murphy Built built a 4-0 lead en route to a win Monday night in Rec A action.

Matt Dickson added a goal and assist in the win, while Nathan Dumont rounded out the scoring. Justin Pigage and Frank Aucoin scored for Yukon Brewing in the loss.

Midget B Mustangs 1, Trans North Helicopters 0

Trans North’s outdoor practice on Emerald Lake Sunday afternoon failed to pay dividends as the Midget B Mustangs shut them out Monday.

Malachi Lavallee scored, and goalie Brett Skookum shut the door.
