Missing Links and MacKay LLP finish on top in golf league

Members of the Mountain View Golf League will have a little fun tonight before they get down to business one week from now.

Last week marked the conclusion of regular league play, which featured an individual match play format.

MacKay LLP, Northerm Knights and Feature Foods all scored eight points last week to solidify their positions at or near the top of the standings. 

Final standings for the playoff are now set. 

Tonight players will compete in a fun scramble, which will be followed by a barbeque afterward.

The league’s playoffs will commence on Sept.10 with the final playoff rounds on Sept. 17.

Just a few points separate the top three teams in the Palmer Division.

MacKay LLP will occupy the number one spot, edging out Northerm Knights, which despite a valiant effort just came up short in catching them.

This was the second straight week that Northerm Knights finished with eight points, which helped the squad move past EMCO Ace Holes.

EMCO ended up dropping down to third place after having a share of the lead on Aug. 20.

Perhaps the most dominant team this season has been Missing Links, which has been a force in the Nicklaus Division.

Four points this past Thursday gave the group an even 90, which was 11 points higher than their closest division rival, Feature Foods.

However, the eight points posted by Feature Foods did help them move ahead of Super A in the overall standings.

One week before Super A had a five-point lead over Feature Foods, which struggled, scoring only two points.
