Firth Rangers keep on pace to challenge for first-place

The Firth Rangers continued to press for first-place honours with a 3-1 victory over Kilrich in Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League action Wednesday night.

The Firth Rangers continued to press for first-place honours with a 3-1 victory over Kilrich in Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League action Wednesday night.

Brian Boorse and Ray Mikkelson led Firth’s offence with a goal and an assist each.

Carl Burgess added the third marker while Bernie Adilman and Brian Eyolfson contributed assists for the Rangers.

Bill Bohmer scored the lone Kilrich goal, assisted by Tim Turner-Davis and Bruce Williams.

Firth’s win moves the club to within a hair of the league leading Medicine Chest.

In other oldtimers action Wednesday, Rick Smith carried the Klondyke Dental Molars to a decisive 6-1 romp over the Edgewater Hotel.

Smith scored twice and added a pair of assists. John Skilnyk notched two for the Molars and added an assist while league scoring leader Wayne Crowe scored once and recorded a pair of assists.

Steve Reynolds scored once and contributed an assist and Sean McLeish helped with an assist.

Shawn McLeod scored the lone goal for Edgewater, assisted by Barry Durward and Dave White.
