Air North/Cinderwood wins by 10 in rec. hockey game
The players on Air North/Cinderwood didn't hold anything back in Monday's game against the Kluane Drillers in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division.
The players on Air North/Cinderwood didn’t hold anything back in Monday’s game against the Kluane Drillers in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League’s A division.
At the end of the 44-minute contest both teams had combined for 22 goals, with Air North/Cinderwood taking the game 16-6.

Air North/Cinderwood 16, Kluane Drillers 6
Chris Gleason had an impressive seven point game for Air North/Cinderwood, scoring five goals and adding two assists.
Darius Elias also finished with seven points in Air North/Cinderwood’s win. Elias netted a hat trick and also contributed four assists, while Ryan Kinney finished with a hat trick and two assists.
Darrell Sturko scored twice and notched three assists, while other goal scorers on the team included Nigel Cripps, Wes Marsh, and Kirk Gale.
Jay Glass also helped out by assisting in four of Air North/Cinderwood’s goals.
Tyler Murray led the way in points and goals for the Drillers, finishing with five goals and one assist.
The team’s remaining scorers included Mark Danels, Rob Pitzel and Ed Vanderkey.
Stuart Murray also played very well, contributing three assists, while Marc Perreault chipped in two assists.

Boston Pizza Hawks 6, Yukon Appliance 2
After scoring two goals in the first period, Boston Pizza added four more to put the game out of reach in the team’s 6-2 victory.
Brian Curial led all scorers on the Hawks with two goals and one assist.
Other Boston Pizza goal scorers included Randy Merkel, Trevor Twardochleb, Barry Blisner and Lance Brown.
Justin Digage finished with the most points on Yukon Appliance with one goal and one assist, while Eric Kositin added the teams remaining goal.

Narrow Gauge 9, Summit Savages 1
Six goals in the second period helped ensure a victory for Narrow Gauge in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League’s B division on Sunday.
Graeme Carruthers scored all three of his goals in the second half and finished the game with five points.
Alex Vatour netted the first two goals for Narrow Gauge and also contributed three assists, while the team’s remaining scorers included Durand Cornett and Milo Jordan.
Andrew Johnson and Scott MacDonald each finished with two assists in the team’s win.
Brandon Duncan scored the lone goal for the Summit Savages, while Aren Coats and Chris Kostelink each assisted on the play.

Yukon Inn Boiler Room 3, Mic Mac Bantam Mustangs 2
Lars Jessup scored the game winning goal for Yukon Inn Boiler Room during the first five minutes of the second period.
Yukon Inn Boiler room was able to hold on to get the close 3-2 win over the Mic Mac Bantam Mustangs in Sunday’s B divisional game.
Yukon Inn’s remaining scorers included Will Beckett and Ray O’Brien, while Kinden Kosick, Wayne Risby, Adam George and David Galbrith each added one assist in the win.
Matthew McCarthy and Gage Preece scored the two Mustangs’ goals, while Brayden Kulych, Isaac Moses, Michael Hare and Scott Meredith each added one assist.

ORC Tree Services 6, Terra Firma Muckers 2
Dan Cole and Arlo O’Riordan each scored twice and added one assist for ORC, while the team’s remaining goal scorers included Jordan Johnston and Logan Freese.
Ben Wondga didn’t score for ORC, but finished the game with an impressive five assists.
Marc Champagne and Hugo Bergeron each scored for the Muckers, while Chris Evans assisted in both goals.
Brian Douglas and Andy Connors each added one assist for the Muckers.
