In a very disrupted season, Yukoninfo.com were able to keep their ship steady and ride the waves to glory.

Their team does have some superstars in Mathias Hartmann and Franklin Fru, but the team is built on good honest players who give their all to the cause.

Gord Barker, Wil Chetcuti and Eric Murphy are players that will enrich any side with their enthusiasm and commitment.

Yukoninfo.com needed a win to claim the title and got off to a good start, scoring goals and keeping Air North Rangers at bay.

Eric Murphy picked up two and there was a goal apiece for Barker, Chetcuti and Jason ‘Man of’ Steele.

Air North Rangers woke up in the second half and put pressure on the orangemen, with goals from Miles Hume, Phil Jackson and a first of the season for Chris McCutcheon, but it was never going to be enough to deprive Yukoninfo.com a championship that they richly deserved, with the game finishing 5-3.

Stacey is the toast of Pepsi

Chris Stacey is having a new lease of life on the soccer field.

His broken body has responded to a new experimental fitness regime which involves eating nothing but carbohydrates, and lying in a cryogenic tank all night.

He is stacking up the goals this season and his two strikes helped Pepsi to a 6-4 win over Yukon Brewing.

Pepsi needed a good result to ensure that they get a bye through to the semi-finals of the playoffs, and alongside Stacey, Justin Carre is timing his crack at the golden boot trophy to perfection.

His two goals take him to the pinnacle of the scoring charts.

Pepsi on their day are more than a match for any team, so it was a good performance from Yukon Brewing to stay as close as they did.

Skipper Marcelo Gortari was superb again for the Brew, with three goals, Fabian Glyka added another. Nathan Bingham and Danny Macdonald were the other scorers for Pepsi.

Koeller leads a great fightback

Jesse Koeller has always been known as a quality player, but Klondike Business Solutions will know to their detriment how good a finisher he is now, as he banged in a hat trick to take an unexpected win as Driving Force ran out 7-6 winners.

KBS were cruising to the win leading 5-1, but Driving Force are a side that laughs in the face of danger, and tweaks the nose of convention.

Lead by maverick George Maratos, the wild bunch took the game to KBS and found them wanting.

Assisting Koeller, Guliano Rayo grabbed a brace with one for JP Ladroue and Jan Aalt Van den Hoorn.

The KBS team were left heartbroken at the end of the game, with only crumbs of comfort given by the goals from Hector Lang with two, Michael Zuccarini, Jason Steele, Mark Wickham and Ciaran Connolly.

Going into the final two weeks, the race for the Golden Boot looks like this: Justin Carre and Miles Hume 14 goals, Danny Macdonald ,Marcelo Gortari and Guliano Rayo 13 goals, so its all to play for.
