Yukoninfo.com were able to celebrate their championship victory with a 4-2 win over Klondike Business Solutions in over-35 soccer action.

KBS opened the scoring through Ash Jordan, but were pegged back when Conor McGregor equilized. Hector Lang struck a stunning goal into the top corner to restore the lead, only for Mathias Hartman to tie the game up.

The second half was a very tight affair, but when Phil Jackson eased the pressure for the league champions with a smart goal, KBS had to search for a winner, but this left gaps in their defence, which Yukoninfo.com Hartmann exploited.

KBS pounded the Yukoninfo.com goal when the league leaders went down to their last 6 fit players, and KBS were unlucky not to close the deficit as the shots reigned in.

The player with a hex hanging over him was Michael Zuccarini, and had he played for another three days, on his own, with 20 balls it was probable that he would still go home scoreless.

Carre blasts Driving Force away

Justin Carre was again at a level that no one else on the field house could match, as he helped his Pepsi team secure the runners-up spot in the league with a 10-0 win over Driving Force.

Carre has his gaze firmly set on the Golden Boot title, and with his four goals in this game, put him well and truly in pole position for the prize.

Carre weighs the same as a shadow, and he is able to slip into spaces that other men can’t, and his accuracy with his shooting normally ends up with a goal.

Driving Force had so many shots, but couldn’t land any of them much to the ire of skipper and goalkeeper George Maratos.

Maratos had his own problems trying to defend his net with every attack turning into goals, as the scoreboard was increasing like Russian interest rates.

Danny Macdonald got two, as did Creed Swan and there were goals for Keith Maguire and Adil Khalik.

Air North Rangers hitting their stride

Air North, so long the whipping boys of the league, put together a performance that shows they aren’t a spent force, as they ran out 6-2 winners.

Phil Jackson, in his second game of the morning, was superb picking up two goals.

Air North Rangers were able to control proceedings in the style their skipper Iain Brekenridge loves, namely possession soccer, waiting for the opposition to make a mistake and pouncing like a spider in his web.

Miles Hume was able to increase his personal tally for the season with another two goals. A goal from Derek Funk who recently was awarded an honorary degree in culinary studies from the University of Williams Lake, and Adal Khalik.

Yukon Brewing are in a bit of a slump at the moment, but if they could shake their recent form could still be a factor in the playoffs as they still have a lot of quality in their squad.

Kruno Kunovic and Jan van den Hoorn got their goals this week.
