It was a week of late-game heroics for EDI. Brian Currie scored a late goal to propel EDI over Medicine Chest and Nathan Bingham also sniped a late marker earlier in the week to earn a tie with CapriCMW. Here are the results:

Wednesday

EDI 4, CapriCMW 4

Nathan Bingham scored his second goal of the game with only 3:47 on the clock to earn EDI the tie. Clint Ireland and team CEO/COO/CFO/CAO Pat Tobler added singles, and Brian Currie chipped in three assists. Greg Lane led the way for Capri with a hat trick, and Dave Wipf got the other.

Tim Hortons 4, Kilrich 0

Glen Traverse recorded the shutout and Mike Gau recorded the hat trick to pace Timmies. Doug Terry continued his torrid scoring pace with the game winner.

Thursday

Yukon Inn 3, Firth 2

Walt Liley lost track of time (binge watching the Kardashian’s, rumour has it) and was late for his oldtimers hockey game Thursday, but he made the most of his time on the ice, banging home the game winner with only 14 seconds left to lift Yukon Inn past Firth 3-2 at Takhini Arena. Kevin Topping tapped in the other two for the Inn, and Ben Kielb and Chris Carli replied for Firth.

Medicine Chest 5, Air North 5

Mark Pike was all over the scoresheet for Medicine Chest with his first goal of the season and an egregious hooking penalty. Tom Ullyett, Gerry Brandt, Geordan Clark and Lester Balsillie also scored for the Chest. Dustin Heffner and Derek Bilodeau each piloted home two goals for the air crew, and Dave Bakica wired home the other on a laser to the top shelf.

Sunday

EDI 4, Medicine Chest 2

EDI’s Brian Currie scored with only 39 seconds left to cap a crazy comeback and lead his team to a 4-2 win over Medicine Chest in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena. EDI scored all of their goals in the last 3:12 of the game. Pat Tobler, Dale Gray (game-tying PP goal) and Ron Cruikshank (empty-netter) did the late damage. For Medicine Chest, it was Gerry Brandt and Geordan Clark with markers.

Firth 7, CapriCMW 3

Nate Clark continued to dominate the league scoring race by adding three goals and an assist to his totals for Firth. Chris Carli collected a pair, and Ben Kielb and GM Marcel Barrault had singles. For the men in bright green, it was Dave Wipf, Gerry Rivest and Greg Lane with goals.

Tim Hortons 3, Air North 2

Stu Mackay tipped home his first goal of the season, the game winner, to lead the Tims’ team. Bernie Adilman and Willy McKenna scored the others. Dustin Heffner potted both Air North goals, and a special shoutout goes to Darryl Cann in the Jets’ net – he was scintillating.

Yukon Inn 6, Kilrich 3

Kevin Topping continued to top the Inn scoring parade with two more goals, and one each was served up by Gary McKellar, George Morgan, Blaine Demchuk and Jeff Jensen (empty-netter). Greg Charlie, Chris Lane and Scott Palfreyman replied for Kilrich.

Yukon Inn has taken over top spot in the standings with 26 points, followed by TA Firth in second spot with 24 points. Tim Hortons rounds out the top three with 20 points.

Nate Clark continues to be the top scorer in the league with 36 points, followed by teammate Shawn Kinsella with 29 points.

Among goalies, Kilrich’s Darryl Cann is tops in GAA, 1.50 in only two games. Tim Horton’s Glen Traverse has moved into second spot with a 2.73 GAA.

Jim Antonissen leads in goalie wins with 12, followed by Traverse with 10.
