Yukon Inn may have won the game, but all the talk on social media was Erik 'The Red' von Flotow's entry into consideration for goal of the year in the Inn's 6-2 win over Air North last Wednesday night in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action at Takhini Arena.

The 67-year-old Air North veteran muscled his way through two hapless defenders at the YI blueline, 'sprinted' in on net, and left Inn goaltender Glen Traverse wondering where his protective equipment was after a spectacular deke by the bearded wonder. George Maratos added the other for Air North in defeat. High flying Yukon Inn remained atop the league standings with goals from six different players - Willy McKenna, Josh Turcotte, Geordan Clark, Greg Lane, Joel Talbot and Lance Bevilacqua.

EDI 3 Medicine Chest 1

Kevin Johnstone netted two goals, Greg Charlie chipped in one and netminder Paul Dainton was solid in net for the winners. Derek Bilodeau replied for the Chest.

Thursday

Kilrich 3 Titanium Storage 0

Gerald Tetlichi posted the shutout for the lumber lads, and Ron Cruickshank, Arlo O'Riordan and even Ron Daub nailed goals.

Tim Hortons 8 CapriCMW 1

Chris Lane and Dave Wipf each scored doubles, and Bernie Adilman, Matt Johnson, Chris Nash and Mark Bowen (on a slick deke) added single servings for the Timbits. Ed van Randen replied with a powerplay goal for Capri.

Sunday

Yukon Inn 8 CapriCMW 5

The Inn continued their practice of balanced scoring as once again six different players lit the lamp - Joel Witten (2), Greg Lane (2), Brad Hameister, Gerry Brandt, Geordan Clark and Joel Talbot. Green guys scoring were Ed van Randen with a pair, and solo shots came from Ron Billingsley, Kerry Pettitt and Scott Palfreyman.

Firth 5 Kilrich 2

George Morgan was flying for Firth as he filled the net with two goals, league scoring leader Frank Aucoin added one, as did Colin Nash and Michel Dubois. Arlo O'Riordan and Ben Kielb replied for Kilrich.

In the WOHL standings, Yukon Inn (31 points) has a healthy lead on Firth (25 points), although Firth has one game in hand.

Aucoin continues to lead both the goalscoring and scoring races (30G, 8A). Medicine Chest's Shawn Kinsella (16G, 16A) and Nate Clark (18G, 14A) trail Aucoin by six points with 32 each.

EDI's Paul Dainton leads the goalies with a 2.86 Goals Against Average. Kilrich's Gerald Titlichi is right behind him with a 2.88 GAA, followed by Yukon Inn's Glen Traverse with a 2.89 GAA.

Traverse leads the goalie wins race with 15. Firth's Stacey Bowden has 8 wins, followed by Dainton with 7.
