Six teams punched their tickets into the second round of Whitehorse Oldtimers playoffs following frenetic action at the Canada Games Centre over the past few days. And three teams started thinking about their punch cards for the upcoming golf season. Round two of the playoffs is set to run on Wednesday with the six teams playing single knockout games.

Three elimination games sent Tim Hortons, Medicine Chest and CapriCMW into their off-season:

Monday

Titanium 6, Tim Hortons 4

Titanium stormed out to a 5-0 lead and then held off a spirited second period effort by the Timbits. Kris King scored twice to pace the winners, who move on to play top-ranked Yukon Inn on Wednesday.

Kilrich 6, Medicine Chest 0

Gerald Tetlichi stopped everything in net for the builder boys, and Arlo O'Riordan and Mark King potted two each to lead the team into a rematch with EDI in round 2.

Sunday

Air North 3, CapriCMW 3

Air North stormed back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game on a goal by Lester Balsillie with just over seven minutes left. The tie was enough to give Air North the tiebreak over Capri and propel them into round 2 vs Firth.

Three hard-fought games earlier sent the top three regular-season teams into the next round.

Sunday

EDI 2, Kilrich 1

Paul Dainton was rock solid in net for EDI, and Greg Charlie scored both goals in the victory.

Yukon Inn 4, Tim Hortons 2

Tims had no answer for Willy McKenna, who was in on all four markers for the Inn (two goals, two helpers). The Inn mates led 4-1 after one period and held off a valiant second period effort by the Timbits.

Firth Rangers 3 Air North 2

Goaler Stacey Bowden stopped numerous Air North breakaways to keep her team in the game, and Frank Aucoin netted two goals to lead the Rangers.

So after the sweat and A535 fumes cleared the air, Wednesday's schedule is as follows (regular season finish in brackets):

Yukon Inn (1) vs Titanium Storage (9) at 7:15 p.m. on ATCO;
Firth (2) vs Air North (6) at 8:45 p.m. on ATCO
EDI (3) vs Kilrich (4) at 7:15 p.m. on NWTel
