The Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League kicked off its 2021-22 playoffs this week. Here are the results of the first round of games:

Tuesday

Yukon Inn 4, CapriCMW 2

The Inn mates overcame a 2-0 deficit to storm back and earn their first playoff triumph. Kevin Johnstone, Walt Liley, Steve Arrell and Kevin Topping scored in the second period to lead Yukon Inn. Ed van Randen and Gerry Rivest scored to give Capri the early lead.

Monday

Firth 7, Medicine Chest 1

Nate Clark extended his torrid regular season scoring spree into the post-season, as he collected a hat trick to lead Firth to the win. Ben Kielb added a pair, and Brent Stokes and Chris Carli netted one apiece. Josh Savill replied for Medicine Chest.

Sunday

Kilrich 6, Air North 0

Mike Hawkins earned the shutout as the builders blanked the flyers. Wade Harrison sniped a hat trick in the victory, and Chris Lane, Stu MacMillan and Johnny Sembsmoen (on a nifty deke) rounded out the scoring.

Saturday

Tim Hortons 4, EDI 2

Ryan Martin scored two, including the empty netter, as the Timbits won a tightly-contested battle to open the playoff season. Willy McKenna potted the winner on a dandy goal with eight minutes left, and Lorne Burnett got the other. Jeff Hunston notched both for EDI.

The next playoff matchups include Tim Hortons vs Kilrich and Yukon Inn vs Firth on the ‘A’ side; and Air North vs EDI and Capri vs Medicine Chest in the ‘B’.
