A massive team performance for the Orangeman took them past Klondike Business Solutions in a 6-3 win in the penultimate game in the over 35’s soccer league.

Every player for Yukon Info worked hard for the cause, playing as if their life depended on it as they put in a shift that had a playoff feel about it.

Graham White was terrific; KBS had no answer to his speed and aggression. He leaves a puff of smoke behind him every time he runs; it was like Wile E. Coyote chasing the Roadrunner for the KBS defenders as he went on to score two goals.

Klondike Business Solutions did open the scoring, but they couldn’t hang onto the lead as a host of Yukon Info players hit the target including Mark Sebek, George Maratos, Oscar Rodrigues and Jim Brown, who would later put in a nomination for miss of the season for an absolute howler that left some of the crowd wailing in disbelief.

KBS did have a bright start to the second half when they scored two goals, but they couldn’t keep the intensity going and were second best for the rest of the game. Justin Carre did get two goals for KBS along with a sole strike from Franklin Fru.

The result leaves Yukon Info.com only one point behind KBS, meaning any slip up could cost KBS second place.

Red Hot Macdonald hits 4

Danny Macdonald always leads his side by example, and his team responded by helping him claim four goals in his quest for the Golden Boot. Macdonald now stands on 27 goals, three clear of his nearest challenger Justin Carre with only one game to go.

Macdonald was zeroed in from the first minute when he sent in a stinging shot that opened the scoring for Pepsi. His team celebrated like they had won the world cup, such is the adulation the players have for him.

By the end of the match, the players were at fever pitch as they revelled in MacDonald’s success. Adil Khalik is finding form going into the playoff as he hit two to help Pepsi win the game 6-3.

For Driving Force, captain Dale Cheeseman should get the award for rediscovering his youth, as he scored another goal for his team, giving a glimpse of the talent that is at his disposal. Sub players Mark O'Brien, and George Maratos also scored but the result leaves them firmly rooted to the basement of the league. However, if Cheeseman’s team play as well as the skipper, there will be some concerned teams in the playoffs.
