The Yukon Quest has pulled the plug on its charity golf tournament, originally scheduled for this Saturday.

“Due to low registration, we have decided to cancel the Yukon Quest Golf Tournament (Yukon) this year,” read a message on the organization’s Twitter account Monday.

The best-ball tournament had been slated to take place at Meadow Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Meanwhile, the organizers behind the annual 1,600-kilometre sled dog race have also revealed a video attempt to woo CBC personality Rick Mercer to the start line in Whitehorse Feb. 7.
