In the first goaless draw in recent over-35’s soccer history saw Air North Rangers and Pepsi play out a game short on goals, but high on tension.

Air North needed to gain three points to keep the pressure on Chieftain at the top of the league, and were keen to make their mark, but Pepsi are a tough nut to crack nowadays as they are well organised and are playing for one another.

It is no surprise to see Air North not conceding goals, as skipper Iain ‘Scrooge McDuck’ Breckenridge is a miser when it comes to protecting his goal.

There was a lot of effort put in, but each team cancelled the other out.

Like wind against rocks, the defences were on top and as the time began to run out it became more and more obvious that no goals were going to be scored in the game.

One point was better than none and the teams were able to live another day.

Korn the saviour for KOS

Klondike Office Systems have been up against it all season long, but on Saturday all their birthdays and Christmases came at once as they put in a remarkable performance to topple the league leaders Chieftain 6-3 to shake up the league standings.

Jurgen Korn may have played against Pele in his prime, but he is still sending shockwaves through the league, as his two goals helped crumble the Chieftain house.

No one saw this result coming, but Phil Jackson’s team were on fire as they set about the Chieftain team.

Jackson got two goals and there was a goal for Sandy Gross and Michael Mareau.

Chieftain were unlucky and if hitting the post resulted in goals the game would be a lot closer, but lady luck was not on their side, although Guliano Rayo did hit a hat trick.

The result means that Chieftain are still two points clear, but cannot afford any more dropped ponts, as Air North are still breathing down their necks.

Carre on the hunt for
the golden boot

Justin Carre has been in scintillating form since Chrismas and again he gave a master class in scoring, as his goals lead his team Yukoninfo.com to a 5-2 win over a depleted Yukon Brewing team.

Yukoninfo.com have come into form at the right time, as they are now on a run of wins that may have come too late to win the league, but will put them in the mix for the playoffs.

Carre hit four goals to launch himself to the top of the scoring charts and there was a goal for Adil Khalik as well.

Yukon Brewing has been hit with injuries and their form has suffered because of it, as they cannot find the cohesion that they have had during the first part of the season.

Skipper Jason Steele is out for the season and they are missing his soothing words of support.

Yukoninfo.com are awaiting the return of Matthaius Hartmann from Germany, which will only make their team stronger.
