Drew Pettitt’s hot start has benefitted Yukon Brewing early in the new rec hockey season.

The former University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves forward has potted five goals and an assist in Yukon Brewing’s first two games – both victories.

So far, the club has beaten the Air North Jets 4-2 and Gold Pan Avalanche 5-4.

The 24-year-old Pettitt is tied with Spencer Tomlin and Wyatt Drift of Whitehorse Bobcat for the early lead in league scoring.

The two wins give Yukon Brewing the lead in the A Division, while Air North – virtually unbeatable over the last few seasons – has stumbled out to an 0-2 record.

Yukon Brewing and Air North are the only teams to have played multiple games in the 10-team league.

Action continues tonight.

Meanwhile, in B Division action, Goody’s Gas, Fountain Tire and the KDFN NorthStars are all tied atop the league with one win apiece.

KDFN’s Josh Vanbibber leads the eight-team league with four points.
