The Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League playoffs are down to the final two teams, with the Firth Rangers and Kilrich set to battle for all the glory (and hats). As Firth came up from the 'B' side, they must beat Kilrich twice to claim the title. If Kilrich wins on Wednesday at 8:45pm at the Canada Games Centre, they are champs, if not, a second and deciding game will be played Saturday, also at 8:45pm, at the CGC.

Here is how they got here:

Monday

Firth 6 Yukon Inn 5

The Rangers scored three times in a 2:25 span early in the second period to break open a tight game and take a 6-3 lead, and then hung on as a determined Inn squad battled back, but fell just short. Chris Carli, voted the league's Most Sportsmanlike Player, led the scoring for Firth with a hat trick, Ben Kielb added a pair, and Nate Clark scored the eventual game winner. Rob Green, with a pair, Russ McDiarmid, Blaine Demchuk and George Morgan scored for Yukon Inn, who now can concentrate on summer pursuits.

Sunday

Kilrich 2 Yukon Inn 1

Scott Palfreyman potted both goals to propel Kilrich to the final. George Morgan replied for the Inn, who dropped to the B side, and their date with Firth.

Firth 4 CapriCMW 0

Paul Husband won his second straight game after his conditioning stint in Mexico, and four different players supplied the offence as Firth sent Capri to the links. Marcel Barrault, Damon Crosby, Chris Carli and Nate Clark did the damage.

Saturday
Firth 10 Air North 1

Eight different skaters collected goals for the Rangers, with Chris Carli and Peter Kirby netting two each of that total. The other snipers were Shawn Kinsella, Marcel Barrault, Tony Clennett, Marcello Masone, Brent Stokes and Ben Kielb. Dustin Heffner replied as Air North's season landed on the tarmac.

CapriCMW 4 Tim Hortons 3

Tim Turner-Davis whacked home a rebound halfway through the second period which stood up as the winner in this back and forth affair. Ron Daub, Arlo O'Riordan and Alfred Feldman netted the others. In Tims final game of the season, Willy McKenna, Chris Nash and Ryan Martin lit the lamp.
