Identities of two bodies are confirmed

The Yukon Coroners Service has confirmed the identities of two bodies the RCMP recovered in area waterways last Sunday.Human reamains were reported by boaters near the south end of Lake Laberge at around 11 a.m. that day.

Using a helicopter, police recovered the body of Whitehorse resident Donald (Donny) Richardson, 28, at around 3 p.m.

Richardson had gone missing near the Yukon River last January.

Police also recovered the body of Django Clark, 53, in the river near Second Avenue and Quartz Road shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday.-

The Whitehorse resident was reported to have gone into the river on Feb. 24.

Foul play is not suspected in either case. Police say the two deaths are unrelated.

The Yukon Coroners Service is extending its thanks to a local dentist for his expertise in helping to identify Richardson.

The service also extends its sincere condolences to the families of both men.
