Yukon Swim Championships take place in Whitehorse

The Yukon Invitational Swim Championships took place at the Whitehorse Lions Aquatic Centre in the Canada Games Centre (CGC) April 29-30.

The Yukon Invitational Swim Championships took place at the Whitehorse Lions Aquatic Centre in the Canada Games Centre (CGC) April 29-30. The Championships were hosted by the Whitehorse Glacier Bears Club.

There were 82 participants.

Nine championships records were broken.

Four club records were broken.

The number of Divisional swimmers that qualified was 22.

The club raced 379 races in total, among all age groups, with 307 improving.

Here are the results:

10 and under Boys: Gold Uriau Brown-Durham, Silver Eli Patera Marchard, Bronze Cameron Grady

10 and under Girls: Gold Nimrin Dhillon, Silver Blake Steele, Bronze – we had a three-way tie with Mallory Horton, Natalie Hallock and Alexandra Grady

11-12 girls: Gold Medal for Erin Delaurier, Silver Amelia Rainey, Bronze River Powell

11-12 boys: Gold Medal to Hugh Stopps, Silver to Roy Oborne, Bronze to Owen Krikorian

13-14 girls: Gold Sabine Keesey, Silver to Melody Qui, Bronze Kalie Massie

13-14 boys: Gold Corbin Jackson, Silver Oliver Cull, Bronze Liam Gishler

15-17 girls: Gold Mia Barrauld, Silver Emily Vangel, Bronze Julia Robbins

15-16 boys: Gold Thomas Gishler, Silver Reese Jackson

18 and over boys: Gold Alex Petriw, Silver Thomas Bakica.
