Yukon Info.com beat league leaders Westmark 5-4 in an incredible game in over 35 soccer action on Saturday.

Westmark were missing some influential players for this tie, but still had enough chances to secure the win, that was until the orange tidal wave that was Yukon Info hit them.

Yukon Info never gave up and were irresistible in their pursuit of the three points, in the second half their team was purring like a brand-new Ferrari as they wrenched up the pressure and watched Westmark implode. JP Ladroue, Adil Khalik, Arnold the Hitman Hedstrom Derek Funk and skipper Danny Macdonald all scored for Yukon Info as they shared the glory.

Justin Carre with two goals and one apiece for Gord Barker and Doug the Shadow Hitch, vainly tried to stem the flow but they were undone by the movement and enthusiasm of the Yukon Info team that is putting a winning run that may lead to an unbreakable confidence once the playoffs begin in March.

Glyka in glorious form

Klondike Business Solutions grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory leaving their players scratching their heads in disbelief over how they lost this game.

KBS were up by two goals most the way through the match, scoring goals but allowing Pepsi back into the game through Fabian Glyka’s excellent four goals and some sloppy defending.

KBS had collected goals from Bruno Bourdache, two, Nathan Cross, two, Franklin Fru two, and James McCullough leaving them in a promising position, but Pepsi had too many good players on the pitch, and any mistake KBS made it was punished severely by the men in red.

Pepsi scored their other goals through Gulinao Rayo, Phil Jackson, JP Ladroue and Keith Maguire leaving the final score standing at 8-7 in Pepsi’s favour, making it 36 goals in the last two meetings between these teams, so if goals are your thing, come watch these teams play again in the future.

Strachan the Driving Force

In a game with little goal mouth action, the stage was set for a hero, and David Strachan stepped into that role with a well taken winner, as Driving Force beat Yukon Brewing 2-1 in the final game of the day.

Strachan is a difficult man to stop when he is in full flow, he is built like a powerlifter and you know it when you get on the wrong side of him. His Driving Force team still have designs on the league title but an inconsistency of late has been costing them, however, a sign of a good team is that they win when they are not playing well which they were able to do.

For Yukon Brewing not scoring enough goals is an age old problem, as their best player on the day was Barry Owngoal and he was the only person to get on the scoresheet for them. They did have Iain Breckenridge back in defence for them, he had been away lending his body for medical science, but even he couldn’t stop them losing. Myles Dolphin got the other goal for Driving Force.
