Yukon Info has timed their charge to the playoffs perfectly, as they dismantled league winners Air North Rangers 5-3, in an entertaining game in over 35’s soccer action.

Yukon Info were again indebted to Wil Chetcuti for another barnstorming performance with two goals and lung-busting runs all over the pitch, that Air North couldn’t contain.

The Rangers, missing their captain and talisman Iain Breckenridge, looked bereft of ideas, and struggled to control the tempo of the game.

A lot of credit must go to opposing captain Danny Macdonald for exploiting the tactical weaknesses in Air North.

The game itself was hard fought, but you felt that Yukon Info always had the edge and were able to score at vital times during the game.

On loan, Gabe Stetiewicz, grabbed a goal as did Nice Guy Michael Zuccarini, with fitness freak Derek Funk rounding out the scoring for Yukon Info.

Air North will need to find their form before the playoffs with only one more week to find the answer. Jurgen Korn, Marcello Gortari and Huy Nguyen got the Air North goals.

Yukon Brewing spanks Pepsi

In a high scoring encounter, Yukon Brewing were able to open the pipes and dismiss the threat that Pepsi brought, with a 9-5 win.

There was another standout performance by Miles Hume, who has picked up an MVP nomination for his play this year. This week he got another three goals and was always a threat in advanced positions.

For Pepsi, there seemed to be some disorganisation in their defence which gave skipper Mark O Brien more grey hairs as they tried to get themselves back into the game.

JP Ladroue scored as did the excellent Pat Zuccarini as he and Stephen McGovern both got two goals for Pepsi.

However, there was to much quality from Yukon Brewing as the clean-shaven Justin Carre netted twice. Eric Murphy celebrating St Patrick’s day early struck two goals, with a goal each for Stetiewicz and the remarkably handsome Jason Steele.

Hartmann sticks it
to Driving Force

Mathias Hartmann has been excellent all season, it goes to show that being young, fit, and quick has its advantages, as he led his team, Klondike Business Solutions, to an 8-3 win over Driving Force.

Hartmann was able to pair up with sub Franklin Fru to initiate high speed breaks that Driving Force had no answer for.

Hartmann added another four goals to take his total for the season to a remarkable 42, as his skill and power has been a delight to watch all season.

KBS’ opening goal owed a lot to John Macphail’s excellent pass, as he put it on Andy Todd’s head.

From there it was only going to be a case of how many KBS were going to get.

Thomas Reixinger was in fine form in the Driving Force net, but it was never going to be enough as Todd added a second goal and Fru grabbed two.

Driving Force were missing a couple of influential players, and when they are all playing they are a different side completely. Mark Chandler, Phil Jackson and Hume got the goals for them.
