WOHL Update: Firth’s Feldman nets hatty in big win over EDI

Alfred ‘Freddie’ Feldman took some pressure off his team’s big guns as he connected for a hat trick in Firth’s 8-3 win over EDI in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena.

Alfred ‘Freddie’ Feldman took some pressure off his team’s big guns as he connected for a hat trick in Firth’s 8-3 win over EDI in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena. Linemate Mervin Jacobsen potted a pair, and the third member of the line, Colin Nash, chipped in four helpers. Frank Aucoin, Duane Purych and Peter Johnston added singles in the win. For EDI, it was Dustin Heffner, Rick Gingell and Kevin Johnstone supplying the offence.

Tim Hortons 6, Titanium Storage 2

Tims goalie Jim Antonissen held off a furious first period onslaught, and the rest of his Timbits teammates scored five times in the second period to earn the comeback win. Dave Wipf led the men in black with a pair of markers, and one apiece came from Mark Bowen, Matt Johnson, Mark Weaver and Mike Blower. Blaine Demchuk and Josh Savill replied for Titanium.

CapriCMW 4, Air North 2

Mike Gau gouged the Jets with a pair of goals, and Scott Palfreyman and Garrett Kuptana (on a laser snipe) rounded out the scoring for Capri. Dave Bakica and Adam O’Dell did the damage for Air North. Jet’s goalie Floyd McCormick returned from a stint in the minors and put in a heroic effort in the loss.

Kilrich 6, Medicine Chest 3

Arlo ‘O’Riordan pounded home two in victory, Steve Arrell continued his torrid scoring pace with another goal, and also tickling the twine were Mark King, Ben Kielb and Stu MacMillan. Shawn Kinsella scored his 30th and 31st goals of the season (second in the league), and Derek Bilodeau got the other for MC.

Thursday

CapriCMW 4, Tim Hortons 4

Scott Palfreyman scored with just under four minutes left to earn the green guys a comeback tie. Mike Gau, Garrett Kuptana and Phil MacDonald also connected. Dave Wipf notched a double for Tims, and Lorne Burnett and Chris Lane each served up a single goal.

Titanium Storage 7, Kilrich 6

Josh Savill collected the hatty here in victory, and Chris Carli, Dale Gray, Russ McDiarmid and Blaine Demchuk had solo efforts. Mark King and even Ben Kielb sported hat tricks in defeat.

Wednesday

Air North 3, Yukon Inn 1

Mike Sage netted two for the sky guys as they defeated the first place Inn in a dandy game. Scott Olafson added the third Air goal, and Willy McKenna replied for the hotel gang.

EDI 6, Medicine Chest 3

A well-rounded attack propelled EDI to the win, as speedsters Mike Hawkins and Bernie Heffner led the way to victory with a goal apiece. Dustin Heffner contributed two in the triumph, and Kevin Johnstone and Vernon Asp also scored. For the pharmacy fellows it was Shawn Kinsella, Derek Bilodeau and Jeff Hunston filling the net.
