Two teams from the Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League (WOHL) earned their first wins of the young season by identical scores during last week’s WOHL action. Here are the week’s results:

Wednesday’s Scores:

Yukon Inn 5, Kilrich 3

The Kevins led the way for the Inn, as Johnstone popped a pair of goals, and Topping added one. Other marksmen were Laurie Malo and Rob Green.

For Kilrich, defence carried the scoring load as Scott Palfreyman and Rick Moses connected, and speedy winger Mike Sage got the other.

Firth Rangers 5, Capri CMW 3

Shawn Kinsella padded his lead atop the scoring race with two goals and two helpers, and Chris Carli, John Pereira and Peter Kirby each banged home one.

For the bright green guys, it was Ben Campbell with two, and Ed van Randen with a dandy solo effort.

Thursday Results:

Two teams notched their first wins of the season in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Thursday night at Takhini Arena. EDI clipped Medicine Chest 4-1 and Air North downed Tim Hortons by the same 4-1 score to get into the win column.

Myles Dolphin fired home two goals for EDI, and Peter Johnston and Mervin Jacobsen potted the others. Linus Fraser scored the first goal of his Oldtimers career for the Medicine Chest.

In the Air North victory, four different players found the back of the net - Derek Bilodeau, James Pugsley, George Skookum and Pete Mostyn. Chris Nash replied for Tim’s.

Sunday Scores:

Kilrich 7, Medicine Chest 0

Scott Palfreyman channeled his best Bobby Orr impersonation as the #4 rearguard collected a hat trick to pace Kilrich to a 7-0 win over Medicine Chest team in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday night at Takhini Arena. Team GM Sean McLeish added a pair in victory, and Bryar Young and Mike Sage rounded out the scoring. Darryl Cann netted the shutout.

Firth 5, Tim Hortons 2

Nate Clark notched the second hatty of the night as he led the Rangers on offence. Ben Kielb and Marcello Masone also tallied in the win. CEO Doug Terry and Chris Nash replied for Tim’s.

Yukon Inn 3, EDI 1

Yves Paradis, Jeff Jensen and Rob Green were the goal getters for the Inn, and COO Pat Tobler spoiled the shutout with EDI’s lone marker.

Air North 9, Capri CMW 1

Elgin Schwantz and Derek Bilodeau each connected twice for the air crew, and singles came off the sticks of James Pugsley, Pete Mostyn, Kerry Pettitt, Ty Heffner and the ageless Bernie Heffner. Greg Lane erased Capri’s goose egg with a late goal.
