Triniti Dental/JPR Cleaning captured the Filipino Canadian Basketball League Yukon with a convincing 119-90 victory over Cornerstone Construction in Game two of the best-of-three final.

The game was close at halftime with Triniti Dental leading only by one, 57-56. But at the beginning of the third quarter, Nico Sarmiento hit four straight 3-pointers, assisted by Ian New. The quarter ended with Triniti on top 87-75, and they cruised home for the championship.

The defence of Triniti Dental was tremendous, especially Sam Wilson, who had many blocked shots and rebounds.

In the end, Cornerstone couldn’t match Triniti Dental’s defensive and offensive might.

Nico Sarmiento led the way for Triniti with a game-high 46 points. Sam Wilson contributed 23 more. Ian New added 15, Chad Williams had 13, and Jeffries Rumbaoa chipped in 10.

The top scorer for Cornerstone was Bryan Hermosa, with 34 points. Ralph Hermosa added 29 in a losing cause.

The players of the game were Ian New and Sam Wilson of Triniti and Ralph Hermosa of Cornerstone.

Sarmiento was named Finals MVP.

Gateway Financial triumphed over Air North 119-88 in the Third-Place game.
