Mike Gau poured in the game winner midway through the final period

Mike Gau poured in the game winner midway through the final period to lead Tim Hortons to a 3-2 win over Medicine Chest in Whitehorse Oldtimers action Sunday at Takhini Arena. Gau added two assists, and Daryl Berube and the ageless Dave Ecker also scored for Tims. Derek Bilodeau and Ben Campbell replied for Medicine Chest.

Air North 4, EDI 3

Dave Wipf led the air crew with two goals, Wynn Griffith and Dustin Heffner added singles, and Floyd McCormick was heroic in net for Air North. Marcel Barrault netted a pair for EDI, and Jeff Jensen got the other.

Kilrich 6, Firth 4

Chris Nash hammered home three goals for the building crew, and solo efforts came off the sticks of Andrew Pothier, Elgin Schwantz and Travor Willier. For Firth, Jeff Hunston tallied twice, and Mike Jim and Rick Moses each scored once.

AON 4, Yukon Inn 1

AON contined to roll, led by Walt Liley’s two goals. Mervin Jacobsen and Blayne Monahan capped the scored for the red team. Kerry Pettitt was the lone marksman for the Inn.

Thursday:

The Red Tide continued to wash away opponents as AON downed Tim Hortons 8-2 in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Thursday night.

Mervin Jacogsen, Walt Liley (three assists) and Kevin Johnstone each scored twice in victory. Single goals came from Scott Palfreyman and Robert Vance. Gerry Brandt and Brent Stokes replied for Tims.

Air North 7, Firth 3

​ Dustin Heffner and James (Salming) Pugsley each scored netted two for the Jets, while Russ McDiarmid, Dave Bakica and Dave Wipf added one apiece. For Firth, Mike Jim fired home a pair and Chris Lane got the other.

Wednesday:

Kilrich 4, EDI 3

Peter Johnston netted with winner for Kilrich with only 16 seconds left in the game. Highly respected Oilers fans Colin Nash and Elgin Schwantz each scored once, and Ron Cruikshank rounded out the scoring for the men in yellow. For EDI, Rick Smith fired home a couple and Gary McKellar score once.

Yukon Inn 4, Medicine Chest 2

Ben Kielb led the scoring for Yukon Inn with two goals, speedy Ron Limoges added one, and Greg Charlie, fresh off a long-overdue disciplinary stint in the minors, also scored. For Medicine Chest, Ben Campbell and Derek Bilodeau did the damage.
