Tim Hortons got back to a .500 record

Tim Hortons grounds Air North: Tim Hortons got back to a .500 record on the season (5-5) as they downed Air North 7-1 in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena. Bernie Adilman scored twice for Tims, while singles came from Dave Ecker, Greg Lane, Wynn Griffith, Ed van Randenmand and Gary Jerome. Briar Young scored a late goal for Air North to spoil the shutout. In other action:

AON Flames 6 Firth Rangers 4: Rick Smith potted a pair for AON, and Blaine Demchuk, Lester Balsiliie, Lance Bevilacqua and Kevin Neufeld also scored. For Firth, markers came from Rick Gingell, Joel Witten, Blayne Monahan and Peter Johnston.

EDI 7 Medicine Chest 5: Marcel Barrault fired home a couple of goals in EDI’s second straight comeback win. Mike Sage, Mark Suominen, Ron Limoges, Ty Heffner and Max Dugre-Sasseville also scored in the win. For Medicine Chest, it was Peter Kirby with a pair of goals, and one each from Scott Palfreyman, Marty O’Hagan and Michael Svoboda.

Kilrich 8 Yukon Inn 4: Mark King netted the hat-trick, Dustin Heffner scored twice, and Ben Kielb, Tim Turner-Davis and Derek Bilodeau also scored for Kilrich. For Yukon Inn, Kirk Price also had a hat- trick and Mike Jim scored the other.

On Thursday:

EDI extinguishes Flames: EDI scored four times in the final 3:18 of the game to down the AON Flames 6-4 in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Thursday night at Takhini Arena. Clint Ireland, Colin Nash, Chris Lane (with the winner) and Johnny Sembsmoen inflicted the late damage. Other EDI goals came from Marcel Barrault and Kerry Pettitt. Rick Smith , Dave Wipf, Jeff Jensen and Paul Sullivan replied for the Flames. In other action:

Air North 3 Medicine Chest 2: Pete Mostyn scored the winner for Air North with 6:19 left, and Mike Burnett and Gerry Brandt also chipped in goals. Adam Green and Chris Nash (on a dandy solo rush) bulged the twine for Medicine Chest.

On Wednesday:

Kilrich 8 Tim Hortons 2: Kilrich’s Mark King recorded five assists from his anchored position on the centre red line, Ben Kielb and Derek Bilodeau each scored twice, and singles came from Tim Turner-Davis, Ron Sumanik, Bruce Demchuk and Arlo O’Riordan. Gary Jerome and Bernie Adilman replied for the Timbits.

Firth Rangers 7 Yukon Inn 5: Also on Wednesday, the Firth combo of Blayne Monahan and Peter Johnston dismantled Yukon Inn, as Johnston scored four times and Monahan three to account for all of the Ranger scoring. Kirk Price scored twice for the Inn, and John Pereira, Steve Arrell and Alfred Feldman also contributed.

Nice to see a lot of familiar names still playing Oldtimers Hockey. Remember the Firth Rangers are still the Yukon champs.
