Driving Force’s Marcello Gortari showed that class is permanent as he led his team to an 8-2 victory over Klondike Business Solutions in over 35’s soccer action.

Driving Force has so many great players in their lineup it was hard to see how KBS would win this game when their three best players were sitting out.

KBS battled hard throughout the game, never giving up, and they had long periods in possession of the ball, but did have the killer instinct that Driving Force had, as it seemed everytime they attacked they scored. Gortari was sensational and nobody in the league hits the ball as cleanly as he does. Gortari picked up two goals as did Eric Marvelous Murphy. Miles Hume and Myles Dolphin both got one, while David Strachan continued his rich vein of form with two more goals. Andy Todd and Nathan Cross got the goals for KBS,

With only four games to go Driving Force need the league leaders Westmark to slip up if they want to win the league, but they do have a game in hand and have them again which could decide who the champions are.

Stalemate for Yukon Info.com and Pepsi

In a very entertaining game, Yukon Info and Pepsi played out a 2-2 tie which was probably a fair result on the run of play. Both teams played positively throughout as they searched for the win.

JP Ladroue had an excellent game and was always trying something special to get a goal for his team. He grabbed two, including the equalizer late into the game. Ciaran Connelly was also in top form, as he covered every synthetic blade of grass on the field multiple times.

For Pepsi they welcomed back Jim Brown, who had been on an archeological tour of Mexican bars, and came back refreshed for the battle.

David Rayo and skipper Keith Maguire both scored for them with neat goals, but a winner was not forthcoming as both teams yearned for a winner.

The result leaves Yukon Info only a point shy of an automatic for the playoffs, while Pepsi have climbed to a respectable fourth place.

Westmark win a squeaker

This fixture between Westmark and Yukon Brewing has been littered with red and yellow cards and has proved to be one of the most controversial, and that carried on to a lesser extent on Saturday.

The first half was quiet with only one goal, but in the second things got a bit tense, due to the closeness of the game and for the fact both teams didn’t have a sub. However, both teams gave everything they had, Gord Barker and James Wigmore were like two punch drunk boxers as the end, as they played every minute of the game.

Westmark were well led by Justin Carre who scored his regulation two goals and it proved to be just enough as only Mark Sebek scored for Yukon Brewing.

Westmark may of done enough to win this game but there may be tougher tests to come for the champions elect.
