Team Canada will face the United States in the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship at 7:30 tonight after defeating Russia 5-0.
The Russians, who Canada defeated last year to win gold, will play Finland in the bronze medal game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Edmonton.
Of course, this means another trip to the gold medal game for the Yukon's Dylan Cozens, who had another strong game for Canada. He wore the captain's "C" in the quarterfinal matchup.
Cozens had an assist on Canada's second goal, scored by Connor McMichael at 10:33 of the first period. Then, on the power play at 15:05 of the first, Cole Perfetti rifled home a shot from the right slot. Cozens assisted on the play.
Then, with the Russian net empty, Cozens sealed the game.
Cozens is the tournament's leading goal scorer with eight. Second place is American Trevor Zegras, with six goals.
Both Cozens and Zegras are sitting on 16 points. Cozens has eight assists while Zegras has 10.
With a victory, Canada would make it three consecutive gold-medal wins. The last time the Canadians lost a final was in 2017, which happens to be the last time the United States has won gold.
